Daughter dating 31 year old man

This. They are both getting what they want at the moment. The more you react to it, the more you push her that way permanently.

Do you know how she defines "partying?" The girl is not old enough to legally drink, let alone use drugs. I would be very concerned.

If she is still in college, how are her grades? Her emotional health?

Not. This is a hard no.

OP do you know the answers to these questions?

"Partying" in a dorm room at night only with 31 year old guys sounds pretty damned sloppy to me.

Op never said dorm. With that age difference if he just stops by to ‘party’ he should at least be paying for her to live in a decent apartment

Is she attractive and mature for her age?

There is something seriously wrong with a 38 year old man who dates a nineteen year old. He's either going to dump her when she's too old or he'll stick around and she'll be changing his diapers when she's still a young woman.

Frat parties and clubs can be much, much worse

Tell this pathetic predator to stay away from your daughter, and teach your daughter to have some self-respect and not waste her time with a creep. Why is this even a question?

So, 19 year old college boys aren't creeps?

I'd be more concerned about their long term marriage if your 31 yr old is immature and engaged.

I didn’t say he was immature. He is college professor and Captain in the National Guard. He is a combat vet X3. Very smart. Very successful. But definitely ADHD. She has the maturity of someone well over her age. Sometimes age really is just a number.

I don’t think this age difference is a big deal. I met my husband at 21, he was 30. We’ve been married 15 yrs. I’d be more concerned with combat vet + ADHD combination. Pretty sure ADHD diagnosis makes you medically ineligible to serve as an officer as well. He must not seek treatment, another red flag.

Her point is any one can be a “pathetic predator” or creep. Age isn’t the issue.

Don't worry about it. Just look at what happened to Scott Disick and his (ex) girlfriend. After a few months (years) he'd move on to another teenager.

Is that what you want for your daughter?
