What the hell would Ryan Lochte's Mom have to with anything? Do you realize that he is a 32 year old man that has earned millions in endorsements fro Speedo, gatorade, etc? Your ridiculous story makes it sound like he is a teenager who got in trouble on a school field trip. Jesus. There is literally no reason for these to pretend that they got robbed.

There are a couple posters (or maybe just one) who are really hell bent on the idea that Lochte is terrified of his mom knowing he was out past dark and staged an elaborate lie with his friends to cover for himself. Said poster keeps insisting it is the "most likely" scenario.

Said poster is an idiot.

First and foremost, Ryan Lochte is HOT.

That said, his skills in life are his looks and his swimming prowess. Not his mental acuity.

Also, his mom--who seems like a VERY loving woman based on what I saw on the short-lived reality show Ryan starred in after London--is a sweet woman, but not the brightest bulb on the tree.

Poor woman was worried about her son after he told her that he was robbed. That's all. So she did what every good mother does...tells the news.

I am laughing so hard at the person who thinks Ryan Lochte's mom called her 32 year old son to make sure he was safely tucked in bed at the village.

Also, interviews (and aforementioned reality show) have made it clear that Mrs Lochte knows exactly who her son is--a hard partier. Why would he have to lie to his mom about where he is?

FWIW, in case Ryan is reading this...Ryan, if you EVER need to be tucked in at night, Olympic Village or elsewhere, there is a middle aged suburban housewife in Northern Virginia who would be MORE than willing to tuck your sweet ass into bed...

Brazil sounds like a good place to avoid.

Out past dark? THE MAN IS 32.

He wouldn't have to lie. His story is probably stupid sounding because he was wasted and can't actually remember all the details.

Exactly. Ergo, most likely scenario is not that he lied to his mom because she asked where he was late at night.

.....And, this is why the Rio authorities are denying/questioning the story.
They don’t want the bad publicity.

Yup. Let's not forget he was either robbed by the police, or someone impersonating the police.

How is this "the point"? And how do you know this is fact? Did he and his mother confirm this with you?
