Ok, and why did all his friends go along with it?

He is 32 years old. He is not answering to his mother. Good God.

I believe him. Officials in Rio don’t want negative stories out there, be they about the crime, the dreadfully filthy waterways, or the green pool.

His wallet was picked up on the X-ray scanner at the airport... Something doesn't add up

The point is that doesn't make sense.

None of them made statements right? All I have seen and heard of was Lochte speaking.

Which is why people are questioning it.

When I listen to Ryan Lochte speak, I just find it hard to believe he's masterminded a false mugging story, much less that he got 3 of his bros in on it. And if I were one of the other swimmers and wanted to make us this story, Ryan would not be my first choice to be a part of the conspiracy. I can't think of what he has to gain from the story, and if I can't come up with anything, you know Ryan can't. And I agree with the PP who said that if you asked me how 4 swim bros would be acting after being mugged, the laughing and joking video is what I'd expect.

They arrived back st 6:56am here is the security tape: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3743679/Ryan-Lochte-seen-rushing-Olympic-village-new-security-footage-just-robbed-gunpoint-5am-nightclub-party.html

Most likely his mom was calling and couldn't reach him when he finally called her back after what 7am he lied about being robbed ..

Source?

And even if it happened, do they not sell wallets in Brazil so that it would have been impossible for him to get a new one before returning home?

If the police didn't take statements from anyone else I don't see how they could have a clue if it is true OR false.

Chances are it was an inside job BY the corrupt police, and Lochte lied because he knew the government is corrupt and it was probably better to let it go.

I find it really hard to believe he master minded a fake robbery because he's afraid of his mom, and all of his friends went along with it. (Either by lying for him or standing by silently and pretending they were involved.)

That makes zero sense.

Let's not forget that originally, the police accused him of lying about NOT being robbed. Clearly they're a damn mess as well.

The daily mail is like the national enquirer. That is not a legit news source.

What the hell would Ryan Lochte's Mom have to with anything? Do you realize that he is a 32 year old man that has earned millions in endorsements fro Speedo, gatorade, etc? Your ridiculous story makes it sound like he is a teenager who got in trouble on a school field trip. Jesus. There is literally no reason for these to pretend that they got robbed.

Who is his mother, Lady Tremaine? We are supposed to believe he was so terrified of her finding out that he was out at 6 am in his THIRTIES that he pretended he was robbed to cover it up?
