| Absolutely yes tell her parents- but discuss with your son first. Remind him he can stop having sex now, it’s not too late. He’s way too young. |

This makes sense to me. |
| Make sure he has access to plenty of condoms and understands he needs to take responsibility if any accidents occur. |
In Virginia an 18yo having consensual sex with a 17yo is a misdemeanor. There is no statutory exception for being so close in age. Would it ever be prosecuted? I don’t think so. But it is a crime with a maximum penalty of 12 mos in jail same as if it were a 45yo having sex with a 17yo. |
one mom of 17 year old says don't tell. Why? I also have a 17 year old dd and would want to know. |
And so it starts...more responsibility placed on the girl |
NP. This is insane advice! I tell my college-aged boys to protect themselves and use a condom every single damn time if they don’t want a baby with their partner. The only way to control that is with a condom, since girls may mess up taking birth control, may want a baby, may cheat and pass on STD, etc. Crazy! |
Mature 17 year olds don’t need advice about birth control from someone who is so obviously paranoid. |

Teens have sex. Putting head in the sand is not going to change that. Respect the fact that your son told you and don’t break his trust in you by telling anyone else — you have no idea the implications for their relationship if you tell the girls’ parents.
I agree with everyone else - just make sure he’s protected and has access to contraception and be there if a mistake does happen. And the talk of statutory rape between two kids of the same ages is ludicrous. No one is prosecuting that. |
Isn't this a contradiction? |
No thank you we don’t arranged marriages |
| Parents of 16 year olds having sex are terrible parents. |
Why isn’t she telling you? |
What would be the boys 2nd form of BC? Can’t wrap it 2x |
