Posting my own stats to say that losing less than 1.5 lbs/week over time can accomplish a lot if you keep going! Stay strong you guys!

You can do it!

I started with almost your same stats, age, height, weight + 2 more lbs, and 1-2 lbs a week is exactly what you should be aiming for for consistent, sustainable weight loss. I just posted my check in above and I’m down 35 lbs in just over 4 months. Just keep at it and the pounds will add up.

PP here. Oh my! Thank you for all of the kind words and encouragement. And for putting it all in perspective. I am of the mindset that 20 pounds should be gone in a week. I’ll get up tomorrow and keep on trying.

I’m by a PP working on cutting back on sweets and carbs. I had a good week! The scale is down a pound or so and I haven’t seen a weight this low in a while so I think it’s real! My weight fluctuates SO much based on my cycle it’s always hard to be sure after a week. I’m jealous of you guys who are steadily losing a point more a week- I need to up my game but I’m going to be happy as long as things are going in the right direction!

Oh man this was me yesterday and today was not so good. I was SO tired from bad sleep and a kid getting me up very early. Ate a bunch of sugar instead of anything healthy when I was starving this morning. So frustrated with myself but determined to go right back to doing better tomorrow. At least I exercised today! Fingers crossed for a much better night of sleep…

Just get back on that horse, you can do it! This stuff happens and you just have to get through it and get back on track like you've been doing before. Hang in there and good luck!

I’m the PP who cut sugar. I was 5’5” 155 and was very excited to see the scale dip into the 140s (149, but it counts!) this morning. I’m feeling very proud of my progress! I have indulged in some treats on a few special occasions but have otherwise managed to keep added sugar out of my diet. When I inadvertently eat something that has it, I instantly crave more sugar and more carbs and am so hungry for the rest of the day, so that is good motivation to stay on track. Ive also done well exercising almost every day.

I’m not beating myself up that my progress hasn’t been perfect. PPs shouldn’t either! We are doing great and it’s a process.

Great job on the exercise! I’m the PP from above, and bad sleep days are a struggle for me too. I’m pretty sure science agrees with us. Hope today is a better day for you, but if not, there’s another tomorrow to try again!

Good work! I’m one of the PPs who has been at this for a while and the 140s have been so motivating to get to, it makes me happy every time I step on the scale to see that new 10s digit. I’ll probably cry happy tears if I ever manage to get to the 130s.

25/2022 23:56 Poster checking in. I’ve had success with getting regular sleep, reducing sugar and adding a strength day 3x per week. Adding in cardio this week. Everything is slow but it feels good to move again. Haven’t been on the scale and I don’t think much has changed but I’m in a better headspace. Congrats to everyone on their progress and for sticking with it!

Mid 40s 5’6” female checking in. Had a rough week. We went out for pizza on Saturday and the scale jumped 5lbs the next morning. It took days for me to budge it back down again, which was frustrating. I’m guessing so long off carbs, plus beer, dehydration, and my period all combined to have it go up. So only down a couple tenths of a pound this week after battling that back. Ah well. Not going to let that derail anything and I kept up with my exercise and tried out a few pure barre classes to help with toning as well. One more tenth of a pound will drive me down to 36lbs lost. 4.5 months working at it.

Thank you! I did do better and the scale didn’t go up at least. I had another late night with work and early morning with a kid but I’m determined not to fall back on sugar today. Any suggestions for ways to keep energy up when tired that aren’t caffeine or sugar would be appreciated!!!

I eat eggs in the morning when I'm low energy, I think the protein helps me, but not sure it will work for you. Sometimes I take a quick circuit around the house when I feel self drooping.

Early mornings with a kiddo sure can be rough though. Mine are older now and I'm impressed that you are losing weight with a little guy around -- kudos to you. RESPECT.

Ha, he’s 4…. I feel ridiculous for still not having lost the baby weight (and added 5-10 during the pandemic)! I have lost maybe 5 and have at least 15-20 to go. I doubt I’ll be back to my college weight ever again.
