Let's lose together

No sweet treats (candy/ice cream/baked goods) except designed times with my kids (so no binging after they are asleep!)
Cutting back carbs at lunch and dinner (which I eat separately from my family) and then eating normal dinner with my family.

I’m going focus on those for a couple weeks and tell you every day how I did. Please encourage/yell at me to keep me on track! Tonight I have a birthday party I’m going to and I will not eat cake because I’ve had plenty of treats this week! I can do it.

Ok I did pretty well yesterday (did not eat cake!) but I did have some coffee cake with my kids. Trying even harder today.

How did you guys do?

I'm doing intermittent fasting and it's working great--only been a few days and already done one pound. I don't eat until 5PM which sounds crazy but I'm so active during the day that it works for me. Going to do this for a bit to jumpstart things. I have about 20 pounds to lose.

Started IF - no food restrictions, just healthy eating. Already down 12lbs. Goal to lose another 20lbs.

OK. I am in. I am 131lbs. 5'2", 57 yrs old. My aim is to lose 10 lbs in 2 months. Starting from today. .

I have had 1 cup of tea with no sugar, a heaping helping of quinoa salad with veggies (zucchini, tomatoes, mushroom, spring onions, corn, cilantro) and two eggs for brunch. I intend to have something similar for dinner at 6. Maybe one or two glasses of lemon water.

Did great this past week (finally dipped under 150 lbs!!), and when we went out to Mexican food tonight , had the fajitas with shrimp, skipped the rice and beans (but ate the guacamole--it was too good!). Now to stay on track another week. Bit by bit, right?

Great job, everybody!!
I'm still under 130, but last week I had a procedure and it messed up my exercise and eating schedule. So, back to "normal" today!!

I’m in the midst of my weight loss journey. Since early May I’ve lost 31lbs. I started at 179. Mid 40s, 5’6”. I’ve been at a plateau for a couple weeks and am trying to push through that frustration, but seeing a number in the 140s on the scale is helping to keep me motivated. I haven’t seen that number since the early 2010s.

My next goal is 8 more pounds to make it to 140. I’m hoping to get there by Thanksgiving. I want to see what I look like at that weight before I decide if I’ll try to push further behind that into the 130s. At my thinnest in my adult life I was 132, but I was in my mid 20s then and hadn’t had any children.

I’ve been doing well so far this week - lots of veggies and lean protein. I only had 20 minutes to work out today but managed to still get in a good arms and shoulders set. No scale changes but it’s slow going. I’m 40 and trying to get more muscle definition in my upper body and abs.

I will try this too! Need to cut way back on the wine and stop grazing at night. I have 30 pounds to lose. 😞

I care about my weight on a scale, how my clothes fit, and how I feel. I'm at 178 right now (I'm 5 ft 7), so on this last year I've gone on a journey from morbidly obese to just obese to just overweight now, and I'm trying to get down into that "normal" range still. Trying to lose about a pound a week, slow but steady.

Good luck, everyone!

I've had a great week -- down to 175.8 today from 178 just over a week ago. I came back from vacation a week ago and I think the vacation weight has dropped off because a lot it was just retained water from salty foods. Two pounds is lot of weight for me in one week and even with this I haven't lost 5 pounds from my weight at the beginning of the month, only 4 (because I gained over vacation). But it wasn't hard to get back on track after vacation, just decide to do it. I also just crossed my 80 pounds of weight loss mark -- I started last summer at 256.

What do folks do when they hit plateaus? Usually I just wait it out and stay strong. I also noticed that sometimes a plateau will break right after my cheat day -- I'll go up a little and then down quite a bit more. Maybe the body needs to be tricked sometimes, heh. Good luck, everyone!

I agree, I don't have a cheat day, per say, but sometimes I just eat more. And sometimes the day after that I have a drop! But I have to have been being good for a while. I'm stuck at my current weight (+/- 2 pounds) for about 2 weeks, thought, so grrrr.

PP mid 40s woman in the midst of my journey checking in.

I’m down another 2lbs for a total of 33. 179 down to 146 in exactly 4 months.

Will check in again next week. How is everyone else doing?

Last week was hard for personal reasons. But I'm back and focused! It was just a blip in the long game!!!

I think coming off of Labor Day and back to school (and what was a really long weekend for some people) a lot of people went off plan or had special hardships.

I was doing great last month but something threw me off this week (could it really have been that SINGLE piece of terrible pizza I had with the kids last Sunday?!) and I went up a pound then -- and it took forever to come back down. Almost there and looking to keep going.

From now on I'm reserving my cheats for actual delicious food only!

I am doing very well at these initial goals although I could probably do better about carbs. I think I need to completely cut out chips; twice I’ve grabbed big handfuls and probably eaten 150-200 calories which undoes so much of the other hard work! I did well at meals though so I guess b- for the past week or so. Scale hasn’t moved much but slow and steady I guess!
