I heard you're an anonymous troll who enjoys making up stories.

There are dozens of people in the DMV who would know first hand Gorsuch from GP, and hundreds who would know his GP reputation. And GP certainly had a suburban spoiled brat reputation back then. [And, yes, I know that. Fortunately it has changed.] Whether above poster is merely a troll is a separate question.

I grew up here. My brother's years at GP overlapped with Gorsuch's. He has never heard anything negative at all about Gorsuch - only how intelligent he was/is. Feel free to believe the negative assessment of someone who clearly is a Gorsuch-hater. I'm sure they're absolutely credible.

Hmmm, he also went to Columbia University, Harvard and Oxford. I'm sure his reputation there was equally as bullyish and ghastly. Anyone know his elementary school or pre-school, can we say stupid things about those too?

I mean really. He can put this story to rest by donning a mask and personally asking Sotomayor to return to the bench.

Will he?

Lawyers have to be masked up during arguments.

Gorsuch is just a raging asshole.

+1 This was all covered in the vaccine mandate thread about the oral arguments.

And she wasn’t at home, she was in her chambers.

DP. PP’s account is more consistent with Gorsuch’s behavior as an adult, so I’m inclined to believe them over you.

Reading these comments, I’m truly scared for the future of this country. You are all a bunch of crazies. This whole “we owe each other a duty to mask up if someone wants us to” bs has got to end. 1) we have vaccines 2) it’s omicron not delta 3) cloth masks don’t work 4) ordinary citizens have never owed others a duty to protect them. It’s not Gorsuch’s job to make adjustments to accommodate Sotomayor when he is perfectly within his rights to not put something over his face. It’s her job to make adjustments. So she can stay home. And so can the rest of you still cowering in fear over this nonsense. It’s been 2 years of barely living life. Time to get back to it.

Yes, we do owe a basic courtesy to each other, and certainly within a small group such as 9 individuals. Yes, we have vaccines. Reason to avoid omicron is in part to reduce risk of a new and worse variant. Of course, cloth masks do not work. I have never worn them. Surgical or 95 masks. No fear here, but I wear masks heading into retail stores and restaurants which I have been regularly supporting since summer 2020. Putting on a mask is no real burden. Get a life. Thank, God, we are not in WW3. The pure selfishness of folks is embarrassing.

You can make whatever choices you want within the rules, but you have zero control over whether people judge you for those choices. Same with Gorsuch here. He decides whether to wear a mask, but the rest of us get to decide what we think of him for it.

I don’t care what he was like in HS. He is a selfish and entitle douche now. Glad I don’t work with him.

Although that “Fascism Forever Club” that he started in high school is worrisome. These GOP true believers all ossified in high school and never show any personal growth (like starting a club called Fascism Forever and then going on to serve a fascist party and being a complete allbag to your colleague. What a ducking weirdo.

Hey - try doing a little research before posting your idiotic musings.
It took me 5 seconds or so.

Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch founded a 'Fascism Forever' club at Georgetown Prep and made white separatist/anti-Semitic statements.

In the 1980s, students at the D.C.-area boarding school spent the minutes before student government meetings hashing out the political debates of the day.

Mr. Gorsuch … participated in the informal debates, where he was routinely teased, accused of being “a conservative fascist.” No shrinking violet, he would shoot back, taking on the liberal ethos of the school and even arguing with religion teachers about the liberal theological trends in vogue at the time.

Political differences aside, Mr. Gorsuch was popular and respected, excelling at debate and being elected student body president.

When it came time to write his senior biography for the yearbook, he would make light of the divide between his conservative political beliefs and those of the more liberal faculty and students.

[Gorsuch] wrote that he founded and led the “Fascism Forever Club,” though those with knowledge of the school back in the 1980s say there was no such club. The mention of it in the yearbook was a tongue-in-cheek attempt to poke fun at liberal peers who teased him about his fierce conservatism.

It was “a total joke,” said Steve Ochs, a history teacher at Georgetown Prep who was the student government advisor during Mr. Gorsuch’s junior and senior years at the Bethesda, Md., school.

“There was no club at a Jesuit school about young fascists,” he told America. “The students would create fictitious clubs; they would have fictitious activities. They were all inside jokes on their senior pages.”

How does wearing a mask = barely living life? You have the nerve to call others crazy?

Can you imagine how emotionally stunted you would have to be to have the same political beliefs today as you did in high school?

It explains a lot about him.

And yet people even then recognized he was a fascist. He just thought it was funny.
