| Christ, even Alito and Thomas masked up. What a nasty little plague rat Gorsuch is. |
| She's diabetic, as are my parents yet for decades I've watched my diet, exercised and took care of myself, just like Goursch. We are the same age and neither of us have diabetes. Why should he wear a mask when it isn't mandatory and one of his colleagues didn't take care of herself? Meanwhile I spent Sunday evening in the warmth of my childhood home with my parents without masks. |

| His body, his choice! How dare he be forced to be uncomfortable! |
Because he’s going to be working with this woman for pretty much the rest of their natural lives and it’s the professionally courteous thing to do? Because he holds himself out as a religious man, and Christians have an obligation to look out for their neighbors? I say “hold himself out” because like so many American Christians, it’s clear they don’t actually believe what they say they do, otherwise they’d be sweating the afterlife big time. Jesus wasn’t an Ayn Rand billionaire. |
That's a great story, PP. Very moving and persuasive. Wow. |
Christ, you’re an asshole. She has Type 1 diabetes, you dipshit. It’s a genetic disorder that she got through no fault of her own, and there’s nothing she can do about it. She was diagnosed at age 8. You apparently have a genetic disorder too; you’re brains are in your ass. “The main difference between the two types of diabetes is that type 1 diabetes is a genetic disorder that often shows up early in life, and type 2 is largely diet-related and develops over time. If you have type 1 diabetes, your immune system is attacking and destroying the insulin-producing cells in your pancreas.” |
But even if it weren't type 1, why be such an a-turd to your colleague? So you wear a mask because your colleague - for whatever reason - needs you to, to be safe. There doesn't have to me some morality tale about who deserves to be sick and who deserves consideration. |

Because he wants her to get sick and leave the Court. Duh.
This is zero-sum warfare. CJ Roberts is going to be in the history books as the captain of the sunken ship. Helluva legacy. |
| FWiW, My mother has type 1 and father has type 2 diabetes. Still doesn't mean that I always wear a mask around them. |
|
I'm invoking the 48 hour rule on this story.
My bet is that within this time, Chief Justice Roberts, or a spokesperson for the Court, or Sotomayor herself will correct the record and verify this story as false. |
| The medical community is now recognizing a third type of diabetes, a hybrid between Type 1 and Type 2. My brother was diagnosed in his mid thirties. He was thin and worked out regularly and his blood sugar was crazy high. He basically stopped eating and still couldn’t control his blood sugar and had to go on insulin. |
