She's diabetic, as are my parents yet for decades I've watched my diet, exercised and took care of myself, just like Goursch. We are the same age and neither of us have diabetes. Because he’s going to be working with this woman for pretty much the rest of their natural lives and it’s the professionally courteous thing to do? Because he holds himself out as a religious man, and Christians have an obligation to look out for their neighbors?

I say “hold himself out” because like so many American Christians, it’s clear they don’t actually believe what they say they do, otherwise they’d be sweating the afterlife big time. Jesus wasn’t an Ayn Rand billionaire.

Christ, you’re an asshole. She has Type 1 diabetes, you dipshit. It’s a genetic disorder that she got through no fault of her own, and there’s nothing she can do about it. She was diagnosed at age 8. You apparently have a genetic disorder too; you’re brains are in your ass.

But even if it weren't type 1, why be such an a-turd to your colleague? So you wear a mask because your colleague - for whatever reason - needs you to, to be safe.

There doesn't have to me some morality tale about who deserves to be sick and who deserves consideration.

FWiW, My mother has type 1 and father has type 2 diabetes. Still doesn't mean that I always wear a mask around them.

The medical community is now recognizing a third type of diabetes, a hybrid between Type 1 and Type 2. My brother was diagnosed in his mid thirties. He was thin and worked out regularly and his blood sugar was crazy high. He basically stopped eating and still couldn’t control his blood sugar and had to go on insulin.
