| wishing thinking should be that person should resigned after 1-20-13 IF Biden is elected |
Thank you for this perspective. It’s a mustard seed, but I understand big things can grow from that with the proper care and attention. Here’s hoping the works are good enough to activate the things I am believing for. The work that everyone does matters, because we care. It is hard to see so much good being torn down. It’s hard to be calm. It’s hard to trust that the work will bring what we really need and that people will do the hard and the right thing. But I will try harder. For me, for my child’s future and for our country. |
| Anyone believe Kellyanne Conway is going to be the nominee? |
Trump supporter here, no way I would want her. NO! Many qualified judges who are conservative women would be better |
You really think Trump cares about qualifications? All he cares about is himself and getting re-elected. |
So Kelly will only serve for two years until 2022? Arizona conducts a special election on the same day of a presidential election? That seems odd. This could force McConnell to vote before the election. |
No, McSally was finishing out the term. Kelly, if he wins, wills serve the full 6 years. |
| can congress take a nice long vacation? |
Kelly gets to serve a full six years term plus two months? I guess the real question is when exactly McSally will lose her voting power if she loses the election. If by law she stops being a senator on November 30, that would be huge. McSally appears to be a sure loser in the upcoming election. |
| McSally loses her power when the AZ election is certified and Kelly is sworn in. That is expected around Thanksgiving. |

Appointed by President Barack Obama at the start of his first term, Sotomayor was confirmed on Aug. 6, 2009 after a 66-day process. Sotomayor is the first - and so far only – Hispanic appointment to the Supreme Court. Her ascent was aided by both sides of the aisle, with President George H.W. Bush first appointing her to the Southern District of New York before President Bill Clinton elevated her to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
they all took more than 42 days https://www.foxnews.com/politics/supreme-court-justice-served-how-long-to-confirm He died on February 16th On March 16, 2016, President Barack Obama nominated Merrick Garland for Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States to succeed Antonin Scalia, who had died one month earlier. |
Can any lawyer confirm this? That means Kelly will serve a term longer than 6 years. Will McConnell still be in charge of swearing in new senators during lame duck? What if he delays it, then McSally will still be a senator until January? |
If McSally loses then she will no longer be a Senator on November 30 or the day the election result is certified. If Mitch delays the swearing in then there will only be 99 Senatora. |
And Puerto Rico! |
