What’s with the GOP obsession with Catholics on the court?

What does this mean and how would we do this? Increase the number of justices from nine? What does that require? Constitutional amendment?

I don’t think there’s anything in the constitution that says that there needs to be nine justices. FDR tried to do this during one of his terms.

This. He is going to use it to shore up conservative voters to vote for him then Moscow Mitch will push something thru during lame duck session win or lose.

If that happens and Biden wins and D reclaim Senate, they absolutely need to pack he courts.

It will happen, and the ugliness of this election will be the proof that it’s needed - one person shouldn’t be this critical to the stability of our political system. Nominate four left-leaning moderates and pack it to 13.

Screw the moderate part, just get the smartest, boldest liberals for the Court.

Prediction:

1. Trump appoints nominee.

2. Republicans don’t confirm a nominee, citing Garland principle.

3. Media grouses about Trump violating Garland principle and gives no credit to Senate’s forbearance.

4. Biden wins, expand size of the Supreme Court. Media celebrates this historic milestone.

Grassley has already said that he would not consider a SC justice nomination in 2020. So have Murkowski, Collins and Romney. Unless McConnell can pressure these four to change their minds, they have all publicly said that they would not vote to fill a SC seat in 2020. And they have all said so in the last few months.

Roe v Wade

They’re such misogynist POSs. Witness the Trump regime ripping out the uteruses of immigrants and... crickets.

Yes. They need to start playing chess not checkers, and not assuming or hoping that 2024 will be a Democrat, we need to act like this is our last chance.

Sorry, I was actually raised Catholic although I consider myself an atheist. I was reading about her and this was what was emphasized in the article

Graham said it in 2018. So we'll see if he keeps his word.

I don't put a lot of credence into what they say.

Oh sorry I didn’t mean you were obsessed. I meant the people who keep picking these psychotic nominees.

And her freakish adherence to religion is about the only thing about her.

Oh please. Graham is a Trump syncophant who has already changed his very vociferous opinions about many things to align with Trump. You can bet that he will continue to fawn over the President and will do whatever the President wants him to do.

Can you clarify? Most of the members at my Catholic church are Democrats...
