Black Ops for WSYL

Look back at past teams that have entered the WSYL, some teams you never heard of. The tournament has set a precedent for creating teams for this event. If they wanted it different they would make the team requirements more stringent.

They want money. 100 mile radius and a 2 tournament requirement (including the qualifier) says it all.

what happened three yrs ago? need the details on this, sounds juicy.

What happened?

Not the person who originally wrote this, but Madlax “poached” some kids from NL a few years ago following the teams sharing some players for a WSYL team. But that’s not the reason you won’t likely see a combination. These clubs are business competitors and don’t often work together. Rarely play in tournaments the other is sponsoring. Because of the way BLC is run (decentralized collection of coaches other than DCE overlay) it isn’t a competitor for business in the same way ML and NL are. Neither side would see a benefit to helping the other. VLC doesn’t really compete with NL for players. Most VLC are VA based. NL mostly MD. Practices are too far for most people to consider both programs except maybe at high school level. So a VLC, NL, and BLC combo can fly, but unlikely you’ll see an NL and Ml combo.

He coaches 24 and 28 and has kids on those teams. 25-27 you probably don’t have that issue. Also Madlax is a much less good option if you are outside the top 16 or so players on that team. True everywhere but especially ML. Heard 27 has weird issues because of the BLC movement over the summer. But at least the top team is winning a lot of games so lots of talent there.

Does the ML owner have a 2026 son? I know that my son played against him while Maddux was coaching. Interesting that he is a 2024 and in HS while my true 2026 is in 7th grade.

In fact, I think he had 2 kids on that "2026" Madlax team

Twin sons are 24's at L and another son 28 at L as well.

I am guessing his 24's were playing down then. It was when my son was in 4th grade at the Polo fields. Sounds about right for him to do. Best part is that we beat them Saturday, and lost on Sunday when a bunch of different kids showed up.

Not a MadLax kook aid drinker, but I do call BS when I hear it - I highly doubt that the owner's 2024 sons have ever played down in 2026.

Believe what you want. The post their rosters on their site. They were on that team.

The people’s confusion above is because there are kids with the last name “Maddux” on other ML teams and people assume they are the owner’s sons. Not sure what the relationship is, if any, other those kids on the 26/27 rosters, but the sons are 24 and 28. The 24s are not playing down. Those are different kids. Not everything involving ML is some conspiracy or cheating.

To be fair, those names arent hard to confuse. If you said playing 1 year down, I wouldn't even question you.

I'm the guy who asked, that makes sense from what I've personally seen.

Yes, and I am sure you have done no posting and no reading of those 37 pages over the past couple of months. Dropped in today for the first time, right?

No posting, but definitely have been reading.

Only happen if they both make it to the championship game - highly unlikely.
