His family described him as always able to find a party and the last to leave one, these people had a lot of time for him and K is attractive. He had known her for years. Extending his trip a day suggests he was getting something out of the drinks and drama. A lot of other people he knew likely had weekday work and family obligations. Doesn't seem like his trip involved his own family/kids at all? Witness 1 spent a lot of time with him but was a guy not an attractive female. They were all part of a social scene, even people like the MMA guy. |

+1 that's what makes it so hard to look away from this story Rich attractive single dude, could easily find young unattached women for fun or for a relationship. But weirdly involved with this seedy family for a number of years. Why?! |

| I find it also strange the details of the stabbing. He was stabbed 3 times with a kitchen knife and then drove off. Seems if wanted to really kill someone you’d wait around to make sure the deed is done, or used a more deadly method. Lee could have easily survived this if the stab wounds had been different. |

So much drinking with the same people, this hotel, that apartment, now another one, seems like working awfully hard to make it a fun time. Even to extend his trip a day? He was very caught up in the drama and back and forth. Even if there was another "dispute" per the lawyer, Witness 1 and Facetime captured the back and forth angst over K. Seems boring and exhausting to me and immature, like with the heart signs. But, they were all into it, some for money or connections and him, I guess to fill the time? The sibs are said to be quite charming and K is attractive. Seems very Great Gatsby cosplay to me. Shame there was not a different ending. |

Maybe it was very impulsive, and he freaked out? One stab was his hip, that is not gonna be fatal. Wonder if the doctor was home for the final convo. K did not mention him to Witness 1 when he called the next day to see if Lee had gone back to her place. It's striking that all of this socializing was going on in homes or the hotel, not out at bars or restaurants. I do think it was premeditated, he did not attack him in the car but drove him to a dark area with few cameras and had him get out of the BMW. Lee really did not seem to see him as a risk, even then. Of course, they had all been drinking pretty steadily for days so judgment and reactions could have been off. Curious what take the lawyer will try to spin. Regardless of what dispute, stabbing someone to death IS a crime. Might not get him on murder, time will tell. |

I'm at a point in my life where I can tell who marries for love and who marries strictly for material security . In this case, it's glaringly obvious they seemed mismatched . To say nothing of the fact that Mr plastic surgeon oozes gay vibes from a mile away . |

He had a criminal history with knives, not surprised that was his weapon of choice.
He stabbed him in the heart and left him in a pretty desolate area, I think he believed there was a good chance he would die. Guessing he felt that Lee owed him financial backing or opportunities after their long acquaintance? Lee saw them as part of a social scene, they may have seen him as a long con. He had another lien quite recently, maybe was feeling financial pressure + jealousy. The doctor was the only one exhibiting outward signs of extreme stress at the courthouse. That really struck me. He can't have been there for all the drinking, his hands would shake, no? It seems like people in close proximity to sibs were inhabiting completely different worlds and experiences. True for the doctor and for Lee. Maybe there will be a criminal mind character study. All that money and the glamour shots but so tawdry and lame. |

All of this seems true. That picnic photo was SO over the top. She seemed terminally bored and prone to stirring drama. Lee seemed super into that. Extended his trip to indulge it. Nima may have been very jealous of his sister's financial security and Lee's $ and success. Did we ever hear where either sib actually attended college? If nowhere, wonder where/how they spent those years? |

There's doctor money and there's successful tech endeavor money . One is NOT like the other . Mr plastic surgeon money was no longer enough to live the life that the Persian bimbo thought she was/is entitled to . Mr doctor may have been used as a trampoline meant to propel her to the social heights she believed she is entitled to. Her failed–to–launch brother was in on it, in so far as he acted like her pimp/agent.
There is a question which hasn't been asked ( I think) : What did the wife have on the plastic surgeon? This is because her behavior seem to have been brazen, deliberate and purposely callous. In other words; she wasn't really worried about a potential fallout,until now . This could mean several things : - Mr surgeon is gay and the wife and brother duo have proof and dangling it over his head . As such , Mr surgeon turns a blind eye to whatever transgressions the wife/brother duo perpetrate . -Mr surgeon is stretched too thin financially and the situation got unsustainable .No matter how much you earn , living above your means is the fastest and easiest way to find yourself in dire financial straits . And it looks like there was a lot of that in this couple. -The bimbo and her brother seemed to have put a lot of emotional investment in the idea of her eloping with Lee, primarily because he's clearly more financially successful than the surgeon who,in their eyes,had reached his expiration date.His recent divorce seemed to have have, in their eyes, raised the probability of this becoming reality. |

Nima was clearly living above his means and had multiple liens on properties. I have not seen that doc was quite that overextended.
The sibs definitely seemed to feel they had invested a lot of time in Lee and he "owed" them on some level(s). Stabbing him out of jealousy, rage, ??? Curious WHY exactly he told people he extended his trip. Hope some part of that was to see his children. Nothing else of any value was happening. K seemed to act like the star of her own reality show, and they all orbited around. Seems super boring. Had to drink to pass the time in that company. Surgeon is very likely to be gay and they had an arrangement. So he maybe would not care if she "dated" as long as it did not embarrass him. Maybe that is why she invited men to the apartment, with brother there, for security and less "public." Possibly it was a 10 year deal, isn't that an important date in CA law? The doctor's grimaces and twitches seemed to indicate that he at least gets that his carefully constructed "public" world has imploded. The sibs seem calm, cool. collected and ready to brazen through. |
