The Rolling Stone article also describes Bob and his then-wife's life in SF
"With a shared appreciation for late nights with new friends, the couple became a staple on the city’s social circuit, forging a reputation for the fun-loving spirit they brought to the happy-hour mixers, dinner parties, and club outings that filled their calendar." Doesn't sound like his "midlife crisis" was a surprise. |

Trial is starting. Moneni’s team is arguing self defense. The defense will argue that the two got into a fight over the alkeged drug desler’ “attempted rape” of Khazar. They say Lee showed “a flash of anger.”
Unfortunately, the SFPD jas a video of Nima meeting a private detective a day before his arrest. The prosecution says the video shows Nima miming a repeated stabbing motion. Nima purportedly “lied” to his sister via text, saying he has dropped off Bob. She then calls him “psychotic” and swears she will find out what happened to Bob. All totally legit, I’m sure. https://missionlocal.org/2024/09/nima-momeni-stood-ground-killed-bob-lee-self-defense/ |
| The trial began this week. The sister, K, will take the stand. |
That's strange, because no one from SF calls it Frisco. |

There's a good NBC Dateline episode on the murder and the trial.
Momeni was convicted of 2nd degree murder in December. The motive was murky. The prosecution claimed that Momeni stabbed Lee because he believed Lee's dealer had sexually assaulted his sister Khazar. Khazar testified that she had been assaulted. Momeni claimed he didn't believe his sister. In any case, Khazar and the drug dealer continued to hang out after the murder. The purported motive is odd and seems incomplete. That's probably because Lee was reluctant to talk sh** about his friends, so no one knew what was up. As PPs said, Momeni and/or his sister may have wanted a come up from Lee. The Dateline episode has interviews with Lee's ex-wife, Momeni'a mother and newly available footage of Lee right before the murder. https://www.nbcnews.com/dateline/in-the-news/dateline-full-episode-under-the-bay-bridge-rcna191821. If you don't have Peacock or NBC, it's available as a podcast. |
