Surgeon is very likely to be gay and they had an arrangement. So he maybe would not care if she "dated" as long as it did not embarrass him. Maybe that is why she invited men to the apartment, with brother there, for security and less "public." Possibly it was a 10 year deal, isn't that an important date in CA law?
