What are you trying to suggest? |
Having a drink? It’s a pretty normal time to be out in a big city. |
NP - we have no idea if this murder was random or any of the circumstances surrounding it, really, other than where and when he was found. Unless and until there are more details, speculating isn’t helpful. |
See, this is the problem. In a modern, civilized city lots of people are out and about in the center of any city, look at Europe, there are tourists 24/7 in big cities in their “historic centers”. And here it’s implied that it’s dangerous to be out after sundown. It is somewhat true for SF unfortunately |
| I think it happened at 2:30am. Nothing good happens that late at night!! |
| Well yeah. I live in San Francisco and am pretty sure his fatal mistake was walking around at 2:30 in the MORNING. You don't do that. That's what taxis and ride shares are for. |
It didn’t used to be like that. Being out around the time of last call was a pretty normal thing and not a time to fear for your life. |
Just to be clear, I don't think he deserved to die. Obviously nobody deserves to be murdered. But ... be smart. Don't go out late at night. |
+1 I am a Bay Area native. Spent many nights out late in SF. This is a change. |
+1. Much too soon to be assigning blame to anyone or anything. |

Who could have ever seen this coming after three years of Defund the Police?
|
| Maybe it's The Zodiac 2.0 |
| SF giving DC a run for its money on lawlessness and existential terror |
SF is grim, bleak, and dystopian. Walking Dead should have saved its money paying actors and makeup artists and just filmed a reality show on the SF streets. |
It's sad that people accept without question that it's okay for people to live in terror of being out on the town at closing time for bars. SF will not be able to have a normal economy if the streets are too dangerous for even a tech founder. |
