Help, I can't open my jar of Talenti

Anonymous
My son went with hot water from the sink on the lid while rotating it.

How much gelato are you all eating?

So much!

I actually have a jar right now that is hard to open every time. It's like the lid is too small for the jar. What is going on at the talenti factory??

It's not even that good. The small company pints you can find at WF are better than mass produced fake fancy Talenti.

Can't open mine now (Mediterranean Mint) - 7/31/17. ????

I emailed them and they said they got some new machine that was tightening the lids too tightly

Massive QA fail.

The problem is in the clear plastic wrap that you have to pull off. There are slits on the plastic. I always pulled it outward from one of the slits and away from the jar. Turns out that doesn't take all the plastic off. That leaves a band of clear plastic right under the screw off lid. Just about impossible to see and it makes it difficult to take off the lid. Now I make two slits in that plastic at the top of the jar about 2 inches apart from each other. Grab the plastic with two hands at the slits and pull the 2 inch section down very slowly against the jar and down. Not outward. This removes all the plastic and the jar opens easily. Just learned this last week and haven't had a problem opening the jar since then.

Good, but won't be buying again. Spent 10 minutes trying to open it. Not THAT good....

Every time I buy a jar of Talenti it seems like it thawed and refroze -- the texture is off (sortof gritty, like ice milk) and it seems to have seemed into the threads on the lid, which makes it hard to open.

Bummer, because it should be so good.

Shut it, Whole Foods cult member.

I tried jar grippers, towels, rubber bands (dumb, they just slide on the smooth cold plastic), hot water on the lid, tapping the sides of the lid, nothing worked and my hands were aching! I read that sometimes when the gelato melts a little it can create a vacuum so I got the idea to make a small hole in the lid with a wine corkscrew and voila! easy open.
Talenti def needs to design some new packaging before someone is seriously injured.

Has anyone tried the method I described a few days ago? I'm addicted to Talenti and eat it almost every day. Haven't had a problem with the lid since I started using that method.

They changed the plastic wrapping on the top. Just got one of the new ones. Problem is fixed.

I am so thankful for the internet. I thought I had gone crazy. Never had a problem. Last two jars had to saw them apart with a knife. Good that I had a spare empty. What is with this.....Talenti...do something.
