Help, I can't open my jar of Talenti

Anonymous
I have two (!) jars in my freezer that I can't open. I've tried many of these suggestions and will try a few more. Talk about frustrating. Double chocolate chip and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Locked up for days!

Thanks, I enjoyed this link. The jars are pretty good for re-use, so there's that. Unless you had to destroy it with a knife...

I think they changed the recipe and lowered the price.

Got it last week on sale. It tastes watered down and not as good as it used to be. Not buying again. Heard a hedge fund or conglomerate bought it and cut costs.

Talenti is amazing but you shouldn't have to break into a jar to eat it

They sent me coupons for two free jars when I complained to them.

This thread makes me laugh, for which I want to thank the OP and all subsequent posters. I had a work trip last week -- 1 night all to myself for dinner and a hotel. Had a lovely restaurant meal and bought myself a jar of Talenti, went back to the hotel, climbed into the luxurious bed, and proceeding to fight with my Talenti lid until I was in tears! I did finally, after a great deal of frustration, get it open, but I resolved then and there to never eat it again. I am now a confirmed Hagen Daz eater.

I do too! It's nice to be able to re-purpose stuff. Cuts down on waste

Got my first jar of talent today. When I got home with it, I was so excited to try it. Didn't even put my groceries away. You guessed it. I could not open it. I have tried basically all of the suggestions except for the one just crack open the lid. Most likely I will eat it all and not need lid anyway. Two of us were actually trying together. Ok, so I put away groceries, and now I'm getting my sledge hammer out.

I microwave for 5 seconds then it opens fine. I love that this thread went for 6 pages... the struggle is real

OP here. I complained to them on social media, and they did not respond - thus I received no coupons which I think is a tad bullshitty.

On the positive side, it's led me to discover more ice cream and not buy any more Talenti. New B&J flavors, and new brands like Three Twins. Have you tried the chocolate orange??? HEAVEN. Probably the best grocery store pint I've ever purchased.

Microwaving was the first thing I thought of with that first pint of Macchiato--and it didn't work.

I used an electric knife and sliced it in half!!!

Will not buy again. But if you're dieting buy it !!!
Because you won't be able to open the container

It's watery junk now. A hedge fund bought it and changed the recipe to extract more shekels from you faithful buyers.

How do I open this jar without melting it???

I feel your pain OP, my last two containers have had the same issue! I really had to work at it but nothing keeps me from my chocolate chip.

+1

Did they get new lids, 1 size too small?

I heard they are using a lighter (cheaper) plastic and this is becoming a real problem. Many people cannot open the jars anymore.
