Absolute crazy town. With trolls like ^^ representing Democrats, it’s no wonder more and more people are running from this party. I feel sorry for the rubes who actually believe any of this garbage. |
Who’s running from what party now?
|
is that the lesson you've taken from the midterms?
|
| He has actively worked against measures passed by voters as amendments. The felons voting and abortion come to mind. |
This thread is about Florida. Surely you don't think voters flocked to... Democrats?

OP, if you're serious, here are some pointers. Which other Governor... Focused on protecting the elderly from Day 1 (the opposite of Cuomo) Kept schools safely open most of 2021-2022, improving the lives of thousands of kids and their parents. Prevented the massive riots that took place in so many other states, protecting the lives of an untold number of minorities. Treated adults like adults, so that for example they could open and visit, safely, shops and restaurants. Want more? |
+100 Let's not forget this: CS/CS/HB 741 adds religion as a protected class with regard to discrimination against students and employees in Florida’s K-20 public education system. The bill requires a public K-20 educational institution to treat discrimination by students or employees or resulting from institutional policies motivated by anti-Semitism in an identical manner to discrimination motivated by race. The bill also adds a definition of anti-Semitism similar to the definition adopted by the U.S. Department of State’s Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism, providing that “anti-Semitism” is a certain perception of Jewish people, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jewish people, rhetorical and physical manifestations of anti-Semitism directed toward a person, his or her property, or toward Jewish community institutions or religious facilities. “I’m proud to sign this bill to make clear through a bipartisan effort that anti-Semitism has no place in our state and our educational institutions will not tolerate discrimination against the Jewish people,” said Governor DeSantis. “I was especially proud to hold a ceremonial bill signing in Jerusalem. Florida is the most Israel-friendly state in the country and as long as I’m Governor, we will continue to stand with the Jewish community.” https://www.flgov.com/2019/05/31/governor-ron-desantis-signs-anti-semitism-protections-bill-cs-cs-hb-741/ But sure, DeSantis is *totally* an anti-Semite.

Well, yeah. I do want more. As I said in the original post, I’m aware of what he’s known for in the media; you reference his handling of Covid, which we all know is centered around his strategy of basically carrying on with normal life. I guess that made life better for the kids and families who went to school and work every day, but I go back and forth on just how much credit someone should get for essentially eschewing cautionary measures and touting that ONLY 85k died under their watch. Who’s to say that’s a good number? It’s still very high. Also, I just think it’s odd how he ties his Covid strategy to “freedom,” yet he scoffed at those college kids who chose to wear masks at one of his events and mocked it as “theater”—freedom means you can wear a mask if you want. But we get it. Lots of people liked the stance he took on Covid. I can’t elect someone based on Covid, nor can I elect them because they own libs. I don’t care about political theater. The spirit of my post is more about producing results and I welcome Floridians to enlighten me on the benefits we don’t hear about in the media. |
Uh yeah, many of us don’t think his support of Israel is a good thing. |
They were high school kids, actually. |
And many of us do. *shrug* |
Or, Florida could elect someone who actually cared about Floridians. |
I get it. You're not serious. Best luck! |
Can you please refute this post with facts? |
Is this some kind of hideous joke? He lied about Covid data and Florida has the highest rate of senior deaths. He had a dangerous surgeon general. Both made it entirely political. I would never retire there with sky high housing costs. The restrictions on immigration make it tough to get things done around the house. My MIL has waited a year to get her driveway done. They can’t get yard workers. No thanks! https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/opinion/2022/11/09/free-state-florida-no-1-covid-deaths-among-elderly/10658295002/" target="_new" rel="nofollow"> https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/opinion/2022/11/09/free-state-florida-no-1-covid-deaths-among-elderly/10658295002/ |
