Life with DeSantis

I know the “build a wall” campaign ad, and I know he disdains the woke mob for Covid restrictions, CRT, normalizing trans, etc…
But what’s life REALLY like with Ron in charge? How are things in FL? Are residents safer down there? Are the effects of inflation not felt as much? Do they have better health care/insurance, infrastructure, schools, etc?

DeSantis supporters in Florida, sell us on your guy.

He is more dangerous than Trump.

It’s actually a bummer bc at first he seemed like a low drama pragmatist but he’s morphing into an unelectable ‘f u’ candidate - ‘f u candidates’ being those on either side who run on culture/ polarization platforms.

^^^ The quote on my push notification for this article from The Atlantic was “Trump would club DeSantis like a baby seal.” 😆

guess little big man didn't get his way after all. sorry little d, that your pathetic attempt to hobble the state's most important employer went so poorly for you.

The guy whose whole career is built on imaginary grievances says there are no systemic injustices in America and he will use the state government to punish anyone that disagrees with him about that. His thought-police law is itself systemic injustice.

Is there a “Death with DeSantis” thread?

Facts speak louder than words.

Contrast the number of people moving from NY to FL with the reverse.

Or NJ, Or IL. Or PA. Or CA.

Other than the initial 6 week lock down our schools were open for in person school. Our school children are doing well and performing at grade level. Parents had the choice of remote instruction or in person at school instruction throughout the pandemic.

Florida provides free college to our students with our Bright Futures program.

People retire to Florida. Not new. A large part of Florida’s economy for 50+ years has been built on attracting retirees to spend the pensions and savings and Social Security and Medicare that they earned working in northern states in a warmer, cheaper, stupider place.

When people with salaries opposed to social security/pensions relocate in mass numbers, you can talk. The influx is still primarily retirees and second vacation homes for tax purposes.

This has been happening over the past few years.
These articles explain some of the reasons people have relocated to FL. The second piece highlights several new FL transplants.... none of them are retirees.

And, my own anecdotal data jives with this...... I know 4 families who have relocated to FL in the past two years. None of them are retired.

He is for book bans + "ant-elite" which I find especially reprehensible, nefarious + hypocritical coming from a guy with 2 fancy/elite Ivy League Degrees. Why are people so stupid?!
