OP here. I want to hear more about what he’s doing right! I get it, the media loves to talk about his eschewing of Covid guidance, Martha vineyard stunts, and the theater of his “dont say gay” bill—but these are the “culture war” type things. I’m hoping to learn more about the positives ways he’s improved life for the people of his state. |
zero people who like him like that he owns the libs and kept schools open - as well as bars and all other places. they like that he prohibited localities from enforcing mask mandates, and businesses were not allowed to require employees or customers to be vaccinated. more than 80,000 people died but at least people could go out drinking without anyone making them feel bad for not wearing a mask. there is nothing else they can point to. |
DP, but how so? |
It was requiring a note from a doctor for the high risk people that was costly. My brother, who is high risk, just waited. The place where he worked closed for several months, and he didn’t have money to get the note that allowed him to get the vaccine. He never was able to access the unemployment system, either. |
| Nationally, it appears that he is only concerned with stoking culture war nonsense to appeal to bigots, but in Florida he also is concerned with creating a corrupt patronage network of donors, enforcers, and sycophants. |
| He will be worse than Trump as president. Mostly because he knows how to work the system. |
I got laid off during COVID and tried to apply for unemployment and the process was so confusing and difficult that I gave up. Luckily found more work fairly quickly, but I can't imagine I am the only one who went without earned benefits because of a difficult - on purpose - process. The early days of getting the jab were also very confusing and difficult. My spouse is high risk, and we heard a rumor that you should call Publix every night just before closing to see if anyone had any leftover shots. That's how we got him jabbed in the beginning. Of course his rich white donors were prioritized early on. Now of course it's the opposite problem since DeSantis was so discouraging about vaxxes, He's really a p o excrement. |
I am sorry that you did not have the money to help your brother. Has he been able to get the vaccine and access his unemployment? |
It might be better for you to move to a state like New York which did a better job handling the vaccines and unemployment. |
LOL there is not one positive that is absurd. This is dictator DeSantis. Not sure where you have been OP but only idiots in Florida are happy that over 100,000 people. That number is most likely closer to 500,000. People are still dying. But sure DeSantis loves his subjects. Does he have a private police force? WHY? He has instructed teachers in the worst possible ways. Most are frightened. Not like schools in Florida were ever good. And the privates are even worse. Not everyone can afford to just quit. Look at DeSantis's private life the bible thumpers love him even though he cheats on his wife (yeah he bought his of a shiny range rover with taxpayer monies a month ago). Casey had cancer during covid she was not "allowed to mask" DeSantis and Florida will die a slow death. He will never be president. Good luck with the war on women in Florida. Not only is he coming for a Full Abortion Ban it will be horrific with contraceptives no condoms even. Prayer in public schools and evangelicals good luck with that he has decided Catholicism is the new region of Florida. Yep fact. He is modeling it after SCOTUS. Not like that is not a common denominator in those crap holes. There you have it OP move to Florida go ahead crime is awful, cost are crazy high and can not. get insurance homeowners or otherwise so ....... Average cost of electricity in a 2000 square foot home $350 per month at min. Ladies Ronnie has decided women should not work so by to women-owned businesses and jobs. Don't believe me LOL fun times. My family is old Florida they know things. OP why don't you donate to Casey's new fund... raise your kids there so they can be barfoot and pregnant age 10. OPPS FLORIDA'S CONSTITUTION HAS A SURPRISE FOR DESANTIS LOL |
I don't think so. I think I will keep just working to minimize the harm DeSantis can inflict here and across the country. If I am one lone voice saying what it's like when he is in charge and how you really don't want that country-wide, then so be it. |
My husband and I are Democrats. In his early days in office he was polite, humble and explained his reasoning for some decisions. Medical Marijuana was legal but only in certain forms, mostly pills and liquids. Previous Governor Rick Scott did not favor medical marijuana and fighting it in courts. DeSanti, who was a state representative and voted for it, stopped the court battle and allowed smoking part to be sold. Maybe one positive and I have never used it recreational or medical. And he did close Florida. Even put FHP at the borders to prevent Louisianaianas from coming to Florida. Restaurants were also closed to public seating for months. DeSantis then went to DC and met Trump. Came back belligerent and rude to press and democrats. If you listen to his recent acceptance speech, he only represents those that voted for him. |
Does he? He has been given carte Blanche in Florida. DC is the big league. |
No. Stop spreading idiotic rumors. You are part of the problem. States have the power to create defense forces separate from the national guard, though not all of them use it. If Florida moves ahead with DeSantis’ plan to reestablish the civilian force, it would become the 23rd active state guard in the country, DeSantis’ office said in a press release, joining California, Texas and New York. These guards are little-known auxiliary forces with origins dating back to the advent of state militias in the 18th century. While states and the Department of Defense share control of the National Guard, state guards are solely in the power of a governor. https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/02/politics/florida-state-guard-desantis/index.html |
+1. My DH and I are 44, and following the normal process we got our first vaccine on March 11th, 2021. First PP: when did you, in awesome DC? |
