when do we hear about acting principals?

| Next board meeting mid-July is the last chance for appointments. By then they’ll have had to say who is running the show at least to kick off the year. |

It must depend by school. At Banneker, we got an email about the acting principal last Thursday after being told our principal was reassigned last Tuesday. |

Karen Bryant stepping down as Principal at SSIMS - sounds like she has a new role.
Patrick Bilock serving as acting Principal. Any experience with him? He’s been at Churchill and Sligo MS in various capacities. |

Bilock is terrific. I’m shocked he doesn’t have a more permanent principal role. He stepped in as acting at Sligo prior to doing the principal intern role and Sligo parents were really upset that MCPS moved him. He is communicative and really really great with the kids. SSIMS is lucky to have him. |

| Parent volunteer here wondering what is going on with ESS? They cannot function another year with the inept AP as principal. I’ve seen her attempt to teach classes… she doesn’t know the curriculum, she shakes, she doesn’t know how to talk to kids. I would never believe she stepped foot in a classroom if her resume didn’t say so…. She’s so unnatural. It’s so bizarre to watch. Hopefully the principal actually comes back. |
