Really? I have heard rumors about that too but didn’t think she would

She said so at a PTA meeting last year and said this year would be "the year of Jody."

I have zero belief that she is actually retiring -- she hasn't mentioned it since the beginning of school that I've heard of.

Exactly. Latest rumor is that she is going to stay “one more year.” I know so many people hate her, but I actually adore her, so this is good for my family.

I'm interested in what you love about her. I don't hate her, but I find her to be performative at best, and unhinged at times regarding some odd stuff. I do think she hires well -- our teachers have all been top notch.

I’m the “I’ll believe it when I see it” poster. Agree completely with you.

Jumping on this thread to ask if anyone up County knows if the principal at Clearspring is retiring. There had been rumors in the community she was also

I think the Bannockburn principal is retiring this year, too. Pyle's principal must be close to retiring too.

We had several principal interns at Rosemary Hills and didn't have any of them actually get the job once the principal left. I think it's just a training opportunity, not indicative of whether they will get a job as principal and, if they do, what school they will be assigned to.

Yeah interns don’t get hired at the school they internship at …. However if an intern turns Acting Principal there is a good chance they could get the job I bet (the Goshen elementary example from earlier in this thread)

I don't think Gupta is the acting for the rest of the year; he's the principal intern right now in the part of the year that the principal intern serves as acting principal for 2 months. After that, the other principal will be back.

Check earlier posts in this thread. The other principal is not coming back. She took another job

The Goshen principal's new job as principal of Clarksburg #9 is effective 1/30, so I would expect an announcement any day now of who the acting principal will be at Goshen, and barring any issues during the internship, it's highly likely to be the current principal intern.

Isn't it strange to be starting mid-year?

Not for a new school. There is a ton of work that needs to get done with construction, hiring staff, meeting with the community. New school principals always start mid-year the year before the school opens.

Anonymous wrote:Goshen ES now has an acting principal (to take the exiting principals place) Rajeev Gupta and as a parent, so far I like him

I think he is the principal intern, so he is running the school temporarily as part of that program. I don't think it means he has a lock on the position moving forward; he'll have to apply to become a principal with everyone else.

Good info. What other schools currently have principal interns? Those will likely be the ones to take a position, although not necessarily at the school they are interning at.

Blake HS has one.

She’s gone now but everybody loved her- teachers, students, office staff . . .

She’s still at Blake, but her time as acting principal is over and she’s back to acting as an assistant principal. That’s how the principal intern program works.

Right. So she's not gone, she's still there.
