Just read the results from the schools where principals were moved around.

From Farquhar:

7. How positive is the tone that school leaders set for the culture of the school? 40.6%

That's pretty damning.

I don’t know this guy but across the board, the percentage of staff who filled out surveys is pathetic. Though IMO 40% isn’t terrible compared to other schools. Maybe everyone is equally unhappy? But if people were horribly miserable and desperate to shout it from the rooftops, I think more people would have filled it out. I get that the all caps poster was very unhappy with his leadership, however it seems like a lot of these replies are from that same person. Not discounting their experience, just saying that it might not be a universal sentiment.

The highest I have seen is 51% completion on the high school level and I doubt I will check every school. At the time it seemed very long and repetitive and maybe each school was different about their approach. My school said it was mandatory and they still had a horrible completion. Unless this is a different survey.

Different survey. The one that comes from the state is the big one. Does anyone know if those results get posted?

The new MCPS one is much shorter than old climate surveys and the questions aren’t deep or probing.

The principal had been on leave since March, leaving the AP (with only one year experience) as Acting Principal and they pulled a third grade teacher in for acting AP. The result was a bunch of teachers quitting. MCPS has no idea what they are doing. Do they even look at the number of teachers who left? Do they even look at the school climate results to see how poorly she ran the school? Someone from central should have been brought in to at least mentor her.

The Acting Principal at ESS is excellent, if not popular with everyone. It’s clear she’s in charge. Too many of the vocal parents in the ESS cluster want admins who can recite the buzzwords. But actually doing the work of being a leader takes a different type of skill and fortitude that she seems to have.

Staff member here....she is absolutely NOT popular with staff members I can tell you that for sure. She doesn't know the curriculum, she has no idea how to actually lead, she just does things she *thinks* a leader should do. She puts on a good show for the parents. That is about it.

Just lol. Even the admin secretary quit. Not for a new position or career-for the exact same position, but at another school. This sounds like it reads like the acting principal herself because “popular” is hardly the choice of words anyone that actually works there would have for her.
