Will Manchin and Sinema crack?

Manchin would lose any and all clout and bargaining power he has if he changed parties. Such a move would be a total dick move, pure spite.

Meanwhile, I wonder if Senators can be sued for not following the will of a majority of their constituents to get them to vote according to their constituents' wishes. If that were a possibility, Arizonans should smack Sinema down with it in a heartbeat.

I don’t understand why they haven’t recalled her. She is so clearly in violation of the will of the people who voted for her. Republicans will not understand this, but senators are supposed to reflect the will of the people who voted for them.

Not every state has recall options. Arizona is doesn’t. Sinema is safe. Waste your time on something more productive.

Speaking of spite, Schumer on McConnell after he extended the debt ceiling for six weeks. That really pissed off Manchin.

And NO, u aren't suing senators b/c they don't do what u want.

Frankly, u are in the MINORITY on this spending bill. Stop watching MSNBC and you'll start to see real numbers on it's lack of popularity.

You have no self awareness. <--------

I looked up it and it appeared they did, but I may have misread it. Any reason for being a *ick to me?

She is in violation of what her constituents want. She certainly appears to be a plant to me.

Five military veterans resigned from Sinema's Veterans Advisory Council this week, calling her the "principal obstacle to progress" and accusing her of being more responsive to donors than constituents.

He wants fewer programs for a longer time period. Which programs though?

He won't say because that would require taking a position and committing to principles. Good governance is learning what your constituents need, and then figuring out how to accomplish it. Manchin is doing the opposite, setting an arbitrary spending allocation then insisting on random cuts to make the plan fit while refusing to engage in a substantive discussion of the need for and value of the pieces that would be cut. That refusal to engage in a substantive discussion is because he knows all of the individual pieces have broad popular support, and he doesn't want to be held responsible for eliminating them.

Lesson learned: it’s not very persuasive to yell at someone while they are trying to use the restroom. In fact, they might decide right there to do exactly the opposite of what the obnoxious person wants.

One is a retired LTC who is running for political office.
At least two are Vietnam vets who have spent careers in activism.

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/10/21/biden-town-hall-manchin-and-sinema-agenda-516685

“Joe’s not a bad guy. He’s a friend,” he said of Manchin, while talking about the difficulty in coming to an agreement with him on expanding Medicare to cover dental, vision and hearing benefits. “I think it’s a good idea. But here’s the thing. Mr. Manchin is opposed to that.”

As for Sinema, Biden called her “smart as the devil” and “very supportive of the environmental agenda in my legislation.” But, he hastened to add, “she will not raise a single penny on taxes for the corporate side and/or on wealthy people.”

This is so repulsive. I wish we had better senators elected than Manchin and Sinema!

I love Biden. That was such a great way of calling them out as the worthless twats they are while not giving them any room to retaliate.

Do you need glasses? To the American public it looks like he just asked for his belly to be rubbed like a puppy. I like Biden but this is soft. Very soft. Speaking out of both sides of his mouth and starting with praise. The only thing the people will hear is that he likes Manchin and Sinema even as they’re tearing apart his progress.
