The current Viers Mill AP is slated to be the principal intern at Woodfield next year. Would they just have her do it by herself? It seems like a recipe for disaster, but who knows?

They could have the soon-to-be principal intern be the acting principal for the year, with a recently retired principal working with them as AP. That has happened before.

We just had the AP (with less than two full years under her belt) acting as principal for past 6 months. It absolutely was a disaster on every level. Would NOT recommend. The district really should have stepped in and had someone from central come in.

Oh, no! We have liked her at Banneker.

Side note: my two kids can't seem to keep a principal! This makes 4 principal turnovers during their time at 5 different schools attended (and in the 5th school, the principal left right after my kid finished there). Is this common throughout the county, or have we just had bad luck?

Why does MCPS continue to reward bad behavior? You can move the bad apples around all you want, but what about all of the complaints filed against them at their previous schools?!?

My kids have attended 4 schools and we have had 4 principal turnovers.

Which principal are you not happy with from today's appointments? When someone uses "bad apples" then they are being specific. We don't all have insider information about what is happening at a specific school.

I wonder why michelle fortune wants to go from middle to elementary? That’s not typical.

Who is Jewel sanders replacing? Didn’t David chia replace Donna Redmond Jones? I thought that was the only director opening.

Maybe Michelle Schultze. She had already retired and was brought back as an acting director.

Banneker parent here wondering the same thing. Her letter to the community didn’t give any reason.

You know we can’t name specific people on this forum for fear of retaliation. We’ve filed complaints year after year with MCPS only to continue to be ignored. Anyone who works in MCPS knows exactly which principal I’m talking about. It’s their dirty little secret.
