Why don't you ask them? |
That does not make any sense. Neither of those are evidence for your assumptions that all or almost all Latinos are undocumented and are living on government assistance. Neither of those things are true. |
The U.S. is not Israel, obviously. The reason we can't have a barrier on the Texas border is because the Rio Grande River is the border. We have a treaty from about 1970 that prevents either country from building any obstruction in the flood plain of the Rio Grande because, duh, that would cause massive flooding on the other side and create all sorts of environmental havoc on both sides. So even if Trump gets his wall, it has to be on the levee, leaving a stranded area of U.S. soil between the river and the levee wall. People who cross the river will already be in the USA when they present themselves at the wall to request asylum. |
Besides, next time auto giants plan to export American jobs, they will think twice. |
I am pretty sure there is a strip of land along the border with a ''neutral'' status. Some countries with a difficult terrain have it. If i am not mistaken Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. Trespasser is apprehended by either side border troops. |
Please don't feed childless lonely, and sick in the bathroom troll

I think they shoot trespasses with rubber bullets and tear gas grenades. It's very effective. |
+1 PP needs to lie, lie, and lie to fearmonger. |
| Well, Trump has walked back his threat to close the border, so I guess the crisis is over. Phew! |
DP What? In MCPS you actually can. Public schools are required to enroll anyone who shows up. We deal with this yearly at my kids’ school. |
Clearly none of you have actually thought through the actual logistics of building and maintaining a wall. Israel's barriers aren't *on* the border, either. They are set back from the border, to allow maintenance, et cetera. Otherwise they would have to ask Egypt and other neighbors to allow them to enter in order to maintain their barriers, and that would be an extremely poor plan. And as a result, you can cross the border and go a few feet into Israel and stand on Israeli land but be outside their barrier. But what's important to remember is that while illegal immigrants / refugees / whatever may still be directly outside the fence, they have in fact made it to the US and are standing on US soil and that impacts asylum requests, et cetera. |
Sounds like bullshit. They need paperwork. |
They do not have to be here legally. If they are here, they go to school. It is the law. And, FWIW, they bring their papers. |
In FCPS, you can check membership growth through the year. At the schools with heavy Hispanic population, the growth since September is impressive. I checked one school today that had a growth since September of 27 kids. That is the equivalent of more than 1 classroom in a Title I school. One school. This is in Fairfax County--not El Paso. Yes, this is a crisis. It is unsustainable. |
If only it was so easy for real Americans born here. |
