| There are some principals who try to get promoted to central and don’t and are bitter. They see other principals they consider inferior to them getting those jobs instead and unleash their frustration on their staff. They want everyone to feel as lousy as they do. They have no self awareness that they’re not getting those jobs for a reason. The people in central office know they’re mediocre. They’re competent enough to keep their principal jobs but not good enough to not be trapped. Those are the worst principals to work for because they’re miserable and don’t recognize their own mediocrity. They just get pissier and pissier and more or less quiet quit. |
That wasn't true, at least not at the school where I work. The principal was a great leader and was frustrated with the lack of leadership in mcps. |
Good for you? That doesn't seem to be the case for the majority. |
There are over 200 principals in MCPS. I don't think you have experience with the majority of them. |
| MCPS Careers has a position posted for Dean of the Virtual Academy grades 6-12. |
| Where is the current one going? Which schools still need principals? |
Snowden Farm needs one |
Paint Branch HS and Potomac ES do also |
| There will be 8-10 acting principals next year! |
why the heck is there a virtual Academy!!!! Such a failure from MCPS. Get these kids back in school!!!! |
The fact we didn't have one until 2020 shows how out of touch MCPS and MCPS parents are. Most counties/states all over the country offer these options. We're so behind the times. |
We know of Magruder and Rock Creek Forest. Which others will have acting principals? (Not counting principal interns serving as acting principals during their practicums. That happens every year at multiple schools.) |
What's wrong with a virtual academy if it meets some kids' needs? |
They are in school. Its a failure to not have the basic health and safety measures in place for families to feel comfortable sending their kids in person. |
