Will O’Connell be any good this year?

I know it's early and they are only scrimmages but heard Boys Latin dominated GP earlier this week and Landon beat BL today by a good margin.

3 observations cause me some concern that VLC may be losing a little bit of luster. First, even if it is true that 2019 has 3 commits to great schools, none are lax powerhouses like Hop or UVA, and the numbers are low even keeping in mind the new recruitment rules.

Second, they lost Langley. One of main builders of program, Phenomenal coach and great advocate during recruitment.

Third, the rosters seem less filled with private school kids. I think this is great for he development of lacrosse in the region. But the fact remains that for the foreseeable future the center of high school lacrosse - where the best players gravitate and largest pool of future recruits - are in the privates. The rise of DCExpress and Next Level across the river may account for this.

Keep telling yourself that. They may even lose to STA this year.

Wish they’d play oconnell

wow Bullis only beats Severan by a goal in a scrimmage and had all of their "All Stars" playing.

Maybe Ty Xanders prized recruits are a little over hyped.

Severn and St Mary's always draw a strong Annapolis group .

Severn has been at the bottom of the miaa for year. St Marys historically is a much stronger program than Severn.

Bullis is over hyped this year if they only beat Severn by a goal. Severn won't even contend for the playoffs in the MiAA this Sprong.

Bullis has most of last year's team back

Minus the best player the has ever had come through its doors.

When they almost lost to prep last year.

Bullis destroyed Prep last year both times, what are you talking about....

Look folks these are scrimmages and coaches are looking for which players can fill a spot. Coaches are evaluating talent not game planning to win a scrimmage. Landon beat BL in a scrimmage 12 - 6. BUT if you look a little closer you may not have known that Boys Latin pulled their starters at half time. (BL was winning 5 - 3) Landon played starters into the 4th quarter. Gonzaga was beating Calvert Hall 5 - 3 at half. Both teams pulled many starters. Bullis was up 9 - 4 on Severn in the 3rd qtr and Severn scored 6 of the next 8 goals I don't know if starters were still playing.
Recap--Scrimmages are evaluation of your team not a game.

Games start this week.

Prep vs St Johns 3/7 vs Severn 3/9
GZ vs Heights 3/7 vs St Albans 3/10
Bullis vs Calverton 3/7 vs Navy Prep 3/9
Landon vs Paul VI 3/6 vs St Paul's 3/9
