Private School Lacrosse Thread

Thank you very much, this was helpful...

If you play for a team like Landon or Zaga, you will get all the exposure you need. If Episcopal or SSSA or St Albans, in contrast, you will need a Blackwolf or VLC or Madlax to help you get those looks.

Are any of the ISL teams close to SSSAS this year?

You have no idea what you're talking about. No college coach is scouting HS games. Kids at Landon, Gonzaga, EHS, SSSAS, STA and any school (public or private) need to be seen. Sometimes it's because of club team events. Sometimes it's based on individual performances at recruiting showcases. Nobody is getting an offer just because they attend a certain school (although they can help and be additive to the process).

Your statement is idiotic.

^^Please stop with name calling. I'm sure that is one of the reasons the lacrosse thread was removed. It is an open forum for people to provide input.

What is ISL? I thought they were in the IAC?

Prep fired their coach also because they didn't win? Tough business

You all are so mysogynistic. ISL is the girls. Girls lax is just as big a deal as boys lax.

In answer, PP, probably not. Visi is struggling due to parental interference with coaches. OTOH Holton has added a bunch of top players and Potomac is trying to beef up their program but it's going to take several more years. SSSAS is unlikely to be challenged locally by anyone but BI, a non ISL school.

The Holton team has several recruits to top colleges already and strong new girls coming in. I think they're going to have a good season.

What will the boy's WCAC look like this spring?

I'm hearing great things about Holton for next year. Not so much about Visi. Every one of their coaches was either fired or left over the summer because of heavy parental interference. They don't even have JV coaches yet. But PP is right - SSSAS will be untouchable in the ISL for years.

I'd like to know also. It appears the coaching situation is in a state of flux or uncertainty at SJC and Prep. Anyone? Thanks.

Prep is in the IAC, not the WCAC. They hired their new head coach -- Scott Urick (played at Georgetown in the MLL, coached at Georgetown and UDC).

BTW, this is sort of useful...

My son just received an invitation to the D3 Showcase in January in New Jersey. Is this a good one?
