Landon is No. 1 nationally, Bullis is No. 11, and Gonzaga is no. 19.

On the girls side, Bishop Ireton is No. 3, Good Counsel is No. 8, and SSSAS is No. 9

UA/Inside Lacrosse rankings also out now. Have Bullis #4, Landon #11, and Gonzaga #19. Haven't seen the girls UA/IL rankings yet.

Holton will be good this year. Three D1 commits and many strong younger players too. They were undefeated in the indoor season and beat the top BI team (they have multiple indoor teams).

Indoor is not really a good indicator of how a team will do on a full field. The three D1 commits were there last year, and they lost a couple of seniors who were strong contributors, so I doubt this will be any type of breakout season for them.

Yes, Bullis may have the edge on paper---the transfers are all very good. But consider this: the backbone of Landon's 2017 nationally ranked #1 team last year was made up of 2018s. Yes, Landon has to replace an historically good FO and a great attack player. And what have these 2018s done since the undefeated lacrosse season last spring? Landon's football team won the IAC championship and received a top 20 ranking in the WAPO, led by a number of lacrosse standouts--in fact 3 out of the 4 football Landon captains are committed lacrosse players. Landon's soccer team won the IAC championship with an historically great season, led by several committed lacrosse players. Last week, Landon's wrestling team led by several outstanding senior committed lacrosse players won the IAC and finished one of the best wrestling seasons ever. Also last week Landon's hockey team won the IAC led by several senior committed lacrosse members. And Landon is winning all these championships despite being much smaller than Prep and other IAC schools. So yes, Bullis lacrosse may be strong on paper but do not discount Landon's 2018 class, which has amassed numerous championships in other sports already this year. Paper does not measure the spirit and determination that the Landon seniors will bring into the lacrosse season, especially given how much they love and respect Coach Bordley.

This is Bordley's last season coaching at Landon so I'm sure his players are going to going above and beyond to make this a season to remember.

It seems that Landon does not encourage one varsity sport superstars. This is probably healthier both physically and mentally for the athlete to participate in mutiple varsity sports instead of just playing one sport year round.

LOL. The Bearth dad is nuts. Landon graduated THREE UNDER ARMOUR ALL-AMERICANS plus a defensemen who went to Navy, an attackman who went to Bucknell, a backup FOGO who went to Utah, etc.

Landon has plenty of top kids but those are huge losses. Get a grip.

Landon returns the top player in class of 2018 in country, another terrific committed starting attack, 4 out of 5 top scorers from last year, entire first midfield, multiple 2-way senior middies and four experienced senior poles. And all those kids just won IAC championships in sports other than lacrosse. I like Landon's chances but it is all chatter until the games begin.

Let me clarify a few things from your post.

Landon graduated Buller, the lefty attackman and Shockey. The defenseman who went to Cornell last Spring was no where even close to being their best defenseman last Spring. Their defense will be very strong this season. The attackman who went to Bucknell last Spring didn't even play a snap as he suffered an injury from soccer season. The backup FOGO who went to Utah, while good, was the 3rd string FOGO, not 2nd string. They also have a kid playing close defense who has about 15 D1 football offers who missed last season.

Don't get me wrong, I think Bullis will be very good this year. Its a team filled top recruits according to Ty Xanders who play year round LAX. Look at Landon's roster, you will see a team comprised of kids who are also stars on their wrestling, soccer, football and ice hockey teams.

While I think Bullis might have more "prized" recruits according to Ty Xanders, Landon is more athletic and deeper.

I also would not sleep on Prep this year. Several of their lacrosse players also play multiple sports. While they may not be the most flashy team filled with blue chip recruits, they will be as athletic as any team in the area.

Blue chip means nothing. Ty Xanders is a douche.

^^^^^^^This...finally some interesting commentary! Bears sound stacked, will Bullis respond? Or are they just a "paper tiger"? And now you have a re-emerging GP squad with some yet to be named athletic heroes. The intrigue is compelling...but I am calling for Bullis to spoil Bordley's final season.

Wrong, Homer Landon Dad. Fowler was an incredible defenseman. To diminish him is laughable. And they also lost the Navy goalie commit that they poached from The Heights. They also lost their speedy SSDM who was hurt.

So they are minus Buller, Folwer, the Navy defenseman, the Navy goalie, the Navy turned MD FOGO who was All-Met, the Bucknell attackman, the backup D1 FOGO plus others.

Bullis' attack has the #1 player in the 2019 class, a Penn commit and a Towson committ. Thei MD commit on midfield is going to play football at Wisconsin plus a D3 guy. Defense is Hopkins, Navy and a D3 guy. Their FOGO is going to Colgate

Landon can definitely win, but Bullis is the favorite, which must kill you. Are you that old dude who blogs about Landon incessantly despite graduating from there 70 years ago?

Don’t use the word poach.... especially Bullis. Your football coach is ruthless as is your lacrosse coach (not as bad though)

The Saint Stephens transfer who left after his junior season was poached and didn’t leave his school on the best terms.

How many of those super great kids are Seniors at Bullis?

Here are the Seniors at Landon:
John’s Hopkins, Michigan, Maryland, Bucknell, Dartmouth (2), Utah, Towson, Salisbury. Oh and one of them is the #1 recruit in the Class of 2018.

Say what you want but on paper, and in person, it goes to Landon. Ty Xander’s is a douche btw.

Interesting how people name boys and no one blinks an eye but someone names girls and it gets removed. The names of these kids are all publicly available on the school athletic pages and on recruiting websites so is a pretty silly thing to get worked up about. Leave it to some crazy Hollton parent to make a case out if it.

I was the Holton parent to comment "keep it classy" but there was no report or case made by me. Honestly there is no reason to talk about specific boys or girls on this thread and you really shouldn't need a moderator to tell you that. That should be obvious to anyone with good judgement.

Maybe one of the "crazy Holton parents" didn't think it was ok to name their high school daughter by name and you're complaining because you want to keep doing it? May I suggest therapy to help you step away from this thread and your insatiable need to know everything about high school sports and the kids playing them?

You are missing the point. Its a point on gender bias - boys are named on here constantly so why the double standard when girls are named?
