Wrong. On paper, Bullis has the stronger roster compared to Landon. These preseason rankings are based heavily on last year's results, because the people who give input have no idea what the rosters are like for teams outside their area. Landon could win it, but they are not the favorite on paper. |
Landon is a little too high. There is no chance they can repeat the success they had last Spring without their FOGO. Bulis looks to just about right with their ranking. The STAB transfer won't be able to replace Trippi. Gonzaga should not even be ranked in the top 25. They had no quality Wins last year and graduated a fair amount of seniors who had started for a few seasons. I'd replace St. Stephens with Gonzaga. |
No way. Why all the delusion on this thread about SSSAS boys team? They have only had one outstanding year and have otherwise always been a mediocre program in the long shadow o heir outstanding girls program. |
|
If not the Saints, what’s the arguement for keeping Gonzaga?
The Purple Eagles had no quality wins last year - zero. The Saints won the VA State title last Spring, return pretty much their entire roster (minus the kid who bolted for Bullis) |

Gonzaga is ranked in top 20 purely based on their results in 2015 or 2016.
The loss to St. Johns last year. |

Generally it is no-cut. Don't see why this year would be different. |

To the STA reply, do you know how many are usually on the JV team? Varsity team? Are there any juniors on the JV team or do they require you make the V team by then or not play at that point? I think that's how it works with soccer?
Just curious for the future for our child who is new to lacrosse thanks |
UA/Inside Lacrosse rankings also out now. Have Bullis #4, Landon #11, and Gonzaga #19. Haven't seen the girls UA/IL rankings yet. |
I think they do not cut for lacrosse but I could be wrong. If you are admitted (wishing you the best of luck), ask admissions for specifics or ask if you can speak with a lacrosse coach/family for information. Good luck. |
| I’d really like to hear from the “on paper Bullis is better” on exactly who is better than the Landon attack and the two Landon midfielders. What paper are you reading. Please list the Landon commits and the Bullis commits and show us in paper. |
| Bullis isn’t even #2 on paper in the IAC |
Holton will be good this year. Three D1 commits and many strong younger players too. They were undefeated in the indoor season and beat the top BI team (they have multiple indoor teams). |
My input may be dated as my son graduated 2 years ago. As far as I know, they do not cut anyone from JV. Yes, you can be a junior and still be on JV. If you stick through it and work hard, eventually you will be placed on varsity by senior year. You may not get any playing time, but the lacrosse experience at STA is about more than playing time or even winning. For my son, it was definitely an experience that defined his fond high school memories. Good luck! |
