Consider camps like Elite 180 or New England Top 150 if your kid wants to play D3 lax

Note: Less than 10% of camp attendees are rising Sophomores. Although it's "too early" for serious recruiting, some kids enjoy watching the process....

I disagree on the under armour comment. The tryouts are a great way to be seen and for pennies compared to other events. The sidelines are packed with coaches. Furthermore, if you play well enough to make the first cut, you'll be seen even more, and every coach will take note.

The best tryout is the Maryland Free State tryouts sponsored by the MD State Lacrosse Coaches Association. Not expensive, plenty of coaches on the sideline best bang for your buck. This is only for rising 10th, 11th and 12th graders.

STA should fire their coach if they come in last place this Spring.

How about whichever team comes in last place in each private league (IAC, WCAC, MAC) we fire the coach. Yeah, that makes sense.

BTW, this is sort of useful...

I thought colleges recruit through the clubs and not so much high schools. I also thought the prospect camps were for high school recruiting and not college recruiting but I am fairly new to lacrosse world and could be mistaken. I welcome feedback from more experienced parents.

Depends on the high school. The relationships and histories between many college coaches and the traditional lacrosse power teams is very strong based on mutual dependence and long-term reservoirs of trust.

If your high school student has already “decided on some favorite colleges” to play lacrosse it cannot hurt to go to a prospect camp, especially if the college/university is close by

DC Express already promoting their bogus tryout prep camp
What a bunch of scumbags.

Can you post the link?

Is there one way that the kids reclassify for high school? Do they usually do it when they switch schools, repeating a grade, or do the middle schools all have an extra 8th grade class for repeaters?

How are Dematha, SJ, and DJO looking for this season?

This thread should have its own site.

VLC is providing a free youth clinic for 8U, 10U and 12U as well as a coaching seminar for new and experienced youth coaches.
