Gonzaga has one of their weakest teams in years, and should be worse this year.
Look at how many boys go to Gonzaga. They should win every sport every yeaf. |
| The coaching is very average at Gonzaga and none of their players pan out in the college ranks. |

Pan out as in they don’t graduate and become lax coaches. LOL you dumb ass. |
| I have a 2021 kid. Any showcases worth doing over and above his club schedule? I know about the change in recurring rules...but can’t imagine the coaches will totally disregard 2021s. |
Why not ask in a real lax forum instead of this insipid thread that is just dads arguing which each other on a forum called DCURBANMOMS? |
IMO even having the experience helps. Much like how in a job search it may take 2-5 (or more) interviews before you start to find your stride. Unless you have a kid who will go and royally mess up, I don't think the experience hurts. We found that it was helpful to watch interactions and gained some knowledge of coach "tells" just by observing how they observed if that makes sense. We have a kid who was a commit in another sport and this was a tip we picked up in that sport, and applied it to lax. |
Yes, I would recommend the Under Armour Tryouts. Will give you a great idea where your son sits not only talent wise but also politically wise. I’d also send him to one or two colleges that you think he is interested in to get a feel for the coaches and campus. Helps figure out what he likes. Playing for a showcase in the literal sense is not worth it unless your club coach is guiding you in that direction. Ask for their input and don’t go to those blind. |
Personally, i wouldn't send my kid to any of the showcases or prospect days until later. He'll be going against older, more developed kids, and may not show well. First impressions are important. |

I would avoid "massive events" like Under Armour. Anyone can attend and you get a lot of rough/dangerous players who show up to "crack heads"...
Consider camps like Elite 180 or New England Top 150 if your kid wants to play D3 lax Note: Less than 10% of camp attendees are rising Sophomores. Although it's "too early" for serious recruiting, some kids enjoy watching the process.... |
The forum is called DC Urban Moms and Dads. Look at the top of the page. What lax forum do you recommend? |
One that's for lacrosse, not private schools, you idiot. |
Be thankful that Jeff has relegated the LAX discussion to one thread. At one point there were multiple threads discussing LAX on the Independent School Forum. Just don't click on it. |
| laxpower is much more helpful. |
