Rhaenyra is not attractive I don’t like the new actress at all.

They don't explain this but I wondered too. Alicent's kids have 1 brunette parent, as do Rhaenyra's children, so just luck I guess?

In GOT, one of the reasons that Ned Stark realizes Cersei's children are not Robert's is that for generations, EVERY Baratheon child (despite the hair color of the other parent) had brown hair. Not foolproof methodology, but I think you are supposed to think the Targaryen genes are similarly strong.

But that’s just the point, Rhanerya IS a Targaryen.

But so was her husband and (supposed) father of her children.

You are not hearing what I’m saying. Alicent’s kids had 1 Targaryen parent (Viserys) and 1 brown haired parent (Alicent.) Rhaenyra’s kids had 1 Targaryen parent (Rhaenyra) and 1 brown haired parent (Ser Harwin.)

There is no reason one should have blond children and one should not.

Unless in this universe paternal genes for hair color are dominant. Kinda like the belief, that is semi-backed my science, that you inherit baldness from your mother.

I'm a natural blonde, and my husband has very dark brown hair. One of our children has black hair, and two of our children are very blonde (all adults, all full siblings). Genes are funny things, both fictional and real.

Both my parents had brown hair and brown eyes. I have blonde hair and blue eyes. I also have my dad’s distinctive nose so I wasn’t switched at birth. No dragon egg, unfortunately.

Speaking of which, I wish Jaime was in this show!

I wish anyone with any semblance of wit was in this show. So poorly written, such unlikable characters.

I agree - the writing pales in comparison. Where are all the great memorable lines? Ned, Cersei, Tyrion, Sir Braun, Varys, Olenna Tyrell, I could go on and on. We have no characters like these.

It’s because the show is based on a fake history which reads like a textbook not novels like GOT. They’re aren’t many memorable lines that can be pulled from it. They’re using the ones that are in there.

It’s a recurring theme in Martin’s books that children strongly resemble only one parent. In the GOT books, of the Stark children, only Arya and Jon looked like Ned, with brown hair and grey eyes, while Robb, Sansa, Bran and Rickon all had red hair/blue eyes like their mother, and didn’t resemble Ned at all (the show departed from this a bit). And of course Rhaegar was Jon’s real father, but Jon only looked like his mother, with the Stark features, nothing Targaryen-like. Not really realistic with how traits are passed down, but I figure that’s true for this show as well.

This makes sense, I didn’t remember this from the books myself but it does seem true. This story is lazy, makes sense for a couple of Alicent’s kids to be very blonde, but not all of them.

Yeah, I only remembered that bit because Catelyn Stark was hating on Jon because he resembled Ned so much, while his heir Robb looked nothing like him.

It makes sense if hair color passes down from the father.

She’s ok but the first one could have carried the part with a little bit of aging makeup.

It doesn’t though. Jon Snow’s father was a Targaryen

I heard the young one was barely 18 and not very comfortable with naked scenes.

She's 22, and I think she's had the most nude scenes thus far.

I think the audience would have had a hard time adjusting. I don't find either actress hugely attractive. I would like to see a little more of the spirit Rhaenyra had in the first episodes. I feel like the current actress doesn't have much fire.

I thought the first Alicent was better in some ways than Olivia Cooke. Olivia Cooke plays Alicent as cray cray.
