Speaking of which, I wish Jaime was in this show!

I wish anyone with any semblance of wit was in this show. So poorly written, such unlikable characters.

I agree - the writing pales in comparison. Where are all the great memorable lines? Ned, Cersei, Tyrion, Sir Braun, Varys, Olenna Tyrell, I could go on and on. We have no characters like these.

I completely agree. It’s just awful.

I keep waiting for someone to root for – not necessarily “likeable” but, so far, only Daemon seems to have a hint of personality.

Which is really more his acting ability than his writing.

The only great writing or memorable lines so far have been from the last episode. Rhyneara blocking Allicent's knife and calling out how exhausting this must have been, how they all see her as she is now, etc. I thought that exchange was excellent- the writing, the acting, all of it.

It's because they switched the actors and keep FFing. By the time I started to like Rhaenyra, it was a new actress. The kids are all so spoiled, I can't even like the cute ones. There is no humor in this show. Remember being introduced to the Stark boys? And then they got their direwolfs in the first episode?

Yes. DH and I are rewatching GOT in tandem with HOD and GOT is just so so so much better.

Old episode question but why aren’t Alicent’s kids non-blonde? Are male genetics that strong in this show? Yes she’s a redhead but it’s pretty dark.

Rhaenyra is not attractive I don’t like the new actress at all.

They don't explain this but I wondered too. Alicent's kids have 1 brunette parent, as do Rhaenyra's children, so just luck I guess?

Yes, it doesn't make sense that Alicent's kids would have blonde hair but Rhaenyra's kids would not. It's the same genetic makeup essentially so there should not be any difference, as Alicent is not a Targaryen

Agreed that the new Rhaenyra is not attractive to me. The younger version (for whatever reason, I can't put my finger on it) had some sex appeal and personality. I don't see it in the new one.

In GOT, one of the reasons that Ned Stark realizes Cersei's children are not Robert's is that for generations, EVERY Baratheon child (despite the hair color of the other parent) had brown hair. Not foolproof methodology, but I think you are supposed to think the Targaryen genes are similarly strong.

But that’s just the point, Rhanerya IS a Targaryen.

But so was her husband and (supposed) father of her children.
