Your link provides only general info. One study that shows Harvard grads outcome is an interesting study showing undergraduate origin of of Harvard law and medical schools. These schools are not majority Harvard undergraduate students. In fact Harvard routinely reject Harvard undergraduates in favor of state university graduates. So one conclusion from the study is that H isn’t all that. Harvard graduates, blacks, Asians, or whites are routinely rejected when competing with state university grads. It does not show white H grads do better than Asian Harvard grads. |
Again with your really low iq analogy? You are saying that only black and white people are American. How about this, why are you complaining of the lack of blacks in high positions? That’s like complaining about not enough Asians as top positions in African companies? |
This thread is not about any anger towards black people. Nice deflection. Why wouldn’t you say the same thing to black people? Hey lighten up, you win some you lose some. Try other schools if your scores aren’t good enough. Why ask for special preference? I mean you’ve even got plenty of black colleges and universities to choose from. Why complain about the unfair treatment that’s waged against you in our society?. Move forward.
This thread is about racism against Asians. Keep up and try to broaden your worldview beyond black and white. |
Most white people have a lot different views on test scores alone. I went to a top 10 high school in the United States. I worked all throughout HS. Junior and Senior Year I worked at our main branch of public library. My school had a free bus to library. Every day from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm our small Asian population in students were there studying. Also a large percentage of the Jewish students. I knew they had SAT tutors, tutors in classes, worked as a group and helped each other out. None played sports or had jobs. School was their focus. Out football team was nearly all black or white Catholic (Irish/Italian/German) as was most sports teams. Parents of the black and white kids would do vacations, join pool clubs in summer, kids either full time in summer. I honestly in 10th grade had a NY Times route before school, was on track team, got home 630 pm, ate dinner, helped with chores till 8ish then attempted some home work for 30 minutes at most. In 11 and 12 grade had a 20 hour a week job. My parents never asked about school, made us lunch, never went up to HS. Heck my friends with richer non Asian or Jewish dads childhood was going to football games, playing sports, sleepaway camp and Disney. The poorer Black kids life at home widely dysfunctional and school was not a priority. Also TV always on at my house growing up. Even my poor Asian friends recall going to dads store with book after school, going to Chinese cram school in summer, extra money was spent on school. So basing admittance solely on SAT and GPA is biased. As an adult my “book education” is not as strong as most of my Asian counterparts. But I have A lot more overall knowledge, maybe from watching 20 hours a week of TV, maybe from watching sports, maybe from going to 100s of Rock concerts, maybe from my skills of repairing cars. Who knows. But I have a lot of knowledge, just not book knowledge. I was at a board meeting in Asia of a German company, was not saying much, all at once one board member had a love of 1980s music, this was in after party. I just asked his favorite bands, he was shocked i knew them All and saw most of them in concert and had the records. Another board meeting almost won bowling trophy. So why should Harvard judge on one skill set? My daughter who got into honors at top colleges is smart enough to know that I could afford a house in a great school district, got her ACT tutor and allowed her to focus on school alone, it is not a big accomplishment. A big accomplishment is my genius older brother on basketball team, with a job in HS and being man of house after Dad died getting Strsight As |
That is silly. Harvard undergrad is the biggest feeder school to all Harvard graduate programs and second or third at grad schools like Columbia, Yale. You would have to look at all top school but many students want to go to another university. Harvard law does take kids from state schools but a few from each school as opposed to 25-30 ( a in my day from) Harvard. I don’t have the current numbers. I can tell you that you can get into the grad schools at the end of your sophomore year or junior year of college as an under grad (depending upon the program). Harvard grad schools love Harvard college. You can google those programs to.. the MBA one is 2+2, I forgot the name of the others but they are very popular. Again if you want to send your kid to state that is great for you. |
You need to complain cuz if blacks are struggling in the job market, it’s got to be systematic discrimination. BLM. Don’t just say it. Mean it. Maybe we need to institute affirmative action in the job market to GUARANTEE there’s no discrimination. Only guarantees I see, following the university quota system, is a lifetime of job market quota system. Instead of 5 black ceos in the Fortune 500, there must be at least 75 to bring to 15% to mirror their general population. Break up the good ol’ boys’ network to make room for the new ceos. |

^^ you’re 1 man pint of view is purely anecdotal.
And if you think you did it so much better, why did you have your daughter focus on school and get her a tutor? Why not have her do like you did? |
Again, do you think Americans are only Black and White? Do you view Asians as Americans too? |
Black people already do that, we could not go to White schools so we built our own. If you read this thread there are people posting about black outcomes, black intelligence and black qualifications. They are saying that black people do not deserve their spot at Harvard and therefore the world discounts their degrees. Moreover someone keeps posting that blacks have bad outcomes who go to Harvard. This post does not amplify Asian qualifications beyond saying that as a group they have high SAT scores and then someone post that black Harvard students have some ridiculously low score (not an accurate score). So the post is very negative about Blacks. And honestly it’s not positive about Asians. It makes Asians look angry at Blacks and bitter. If you can’t see how this would be disturbing to Blacks ... I don’t know what to say. |
You missed the big picture. As blacks need affirmative action in college, they also need affirmative action in life after college. In fact, they need affirmative action from the cradle to the grave. Fire 🔥 all these Karens in the corporate America. There’s so many Karens out there that this simple action will be enough to make room for blacks to move into their new positions. BLM. Don’t just say it. Mean it. |
This type of post is just angry and bitter toward Blacks. Again I am sorry you do not like the admission standard of one of the oldest White schools in the country but Black people did not create Harvard’s admission system. Black people also as you pointed out do not control most of corporate America so your comment is misdirected and bitter. If you want to change the system by all means do it and try to change laws you do not like to but bashing Black people and making fun of police brutality and murder is not really going to get you very far. It really makes Asian look terrible. |
I did not miss any point. I just do not understand how Asians think bashing Blacks will improve their own circumstances. Why must they focus on tearing down Blacks. |
Who is tearing down blacks? You need to tear down the old system - with hammer - to bring about a new system. 15% ceos in corporate America. This means you need to destroy the status quo, get rid of these old farts to make room for the new 15%. And we aren’t talking only 15% ceos. We are talking 15% in everything else - in law, healthcare, entertainment, sports... Think the NBA, the NFL... For this, you need a hammer 🔨 to destroy the status quo. |
Asians fighting blacks for the scraps that white people deign to leave us is their dream. Asian complaining about “unqualified” blacks getting into college masks the reality of not only unqualified whites getting into college but even less qualified whites benefitting from every other advantage throughout their lives. I knew a ton of 80s bands and that’s why I deserve my success. Seriously? |
You want the NBA and NFL to only be 15% black? |
