Yes, let's pit minority groups against each other while the white legacies and athletes cheer on the sidelines and then walk through the university gates.

People don’t have problem in losing a spot to those who are equally qualified. When losing to intellectual inferiors, it’s obscene.

White athletes are not equally qualified but i assume once you saw the word “white” you assumed they were.

Black athletes are one of the main beneficiaries when colleges are looking for athletes. They are not excluded. But I don’t know anywhere scholars are given extra points for the color of their skin. I never hear about whites or Asians who were accepted by EVERY ivy they applied. What do you call that? Black privilege.

In the Ivy League and at Harvard in particular, the athlete tip is overwhelmingly for whites. Lucky for you the expert for the plaintiffs in the SFFA case did a study on this very topic. I would suggest you read it and learn something for once. But that may be assuming too much about you.

So yes when you see all those white athletes walking through the Yard, you should find it obscene. But one has to think based on your posts that you somehow won’t because they’re white.

Not surprisingly, you missed the point. Unlike affirmative action, athlete recruits aren’t designed to make a reference to race. And not surprisingly, it does make a reference to race at Harvard. If you’ve been reading this thread, you’d know affirmative action is designed to benefit Harvard and not American born blacks. They use affirmative action to recruit full-pay African and Caribbean students while throwing a bone 🦴 or two to American blacks. Just as you pointed out that athlete recruitment does not benefit blacks, affirmative action is designed to benefit Harvard, not American blacks.

You keep posting this BS.

Yes, the policy of racial balance in admission is to benefit Harvard and not society. You are right about that.

No, the policy is NOT Affirmative Action. You are wrong about that.

Your claim that is it designed to recruit full pay non-American blacks remains completely unsupported by facts.

Learn. Read a book. Start with “The Shape Of The River”.

All The studies I ever read on affirmative action shows serious deleterious consequences of affirmative action. Read writers like Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams... In fact try to read Justice Thomas, as he may have a say once the case reaches the SCOTUS.

If you can’t find the basis of Harvard’s support for affirmative action after several days, I feel sorry for you. Why do you think H athletic recruits are whites, assuming your claim is true? Harvard is not going to the inner cities to recruit low income athletes. They rather recruit full-pay rich white kids. Try to read between the lines.

I have no skin in the game. My kid’s at an ivy - not Harvard. No ivy parent will bash other students, no matter the background. Diversity is highly prized. And that diversity includes African and Caribbean students.

I don't need to "Try to read between the lines". I suggest you try and read "the lines" themselves, especially the ones I typed if you are going to reply to me.

All your posts about Affirmative Action are irrelevant as the policy of seeking racial balance in college admissions is NOT Affirmative Action.

That's what I am trying to get you to understand.

Why wouldn't you admit what was true? Otherwise, I can claim I am Black but, come time to meet me they will see that I am not?

Ask Pocahontas.
