Asians should as a block not apply to Harvard for time being. There are other options.

Harvard is one of the universities hardest hit by the coronavirus. This would be a good time for Asians as a block to boycott Harvard.

Harvard looks to be online for Fall 2020. It is one of the hardest hit schools, one of the first universities to shut down in March 2020 because it didn’t have a good plan in case a student contracts the virus. Now, anyone who goes there must be asking if Harvard YouTube video lectures is worth the tuition.

Great idea! Why not have the Whites (both the ones with great stats like the Asians and the ones with privilege (sports, legacy, etc)) also join in? Make all the top schools Black-only for the next 5 years! Any unfilled seats can go to low-income kids without regard to race.

White people wanna sign up?

You want a group of people who have been historically discriminated against by a white government to give up their seats to an elite academic institution so black people can have a chance?

How about legacy and those with money give up their seats, no matter the color of their skin. IMO, those people definitely do not need a leg up in the world.

I’m pretty sure having 100% black people in elite positions has already been tried. It’s called Africa and the experiment isn’t working out so well

PP here. I was being sarcastic asking white people to sign up. Some poster is trying to make this a black vs asian issue when it's really not. We (Asians) are NOT competing with Blacks. I think all institutions of higher learning should be taxed as corporations (not non-profits) and the resultant taxes should be used to establish a foundation for historically disadvantaged groups (descendants of blacks who were brought here as slaves and Native Americans). Other lower income groups could also benefit from these programs. Any liberals willing to push for that?

As long as these institutions are benefiting from tax breaks that I fund, I should get to have a say in how they behave. F**K their "holistic" BS. I've seen snide articles about how Liberty University is a non-profit but makes a ton of profit, etc. written like an expose but none from the bleeding-heart liberals criticizing Harvard and the likes which are really hedge funds fronting/pretending to be in the education business..

If H truly cares about URMs, they can invest some of their money supporting k-12 in low income communities to bring up their academic standards. All evidence, however, points to affirmative action being a great business for Harvard. Harvard mainly uses affirmative action to recruit full-pay African and Caribbean students while it throws a bone to few American blacks.

They don't really care. They just pretend to. How else will they look good to the leftist mobs that want Harvard to be progressive. Even the few bones they throw to American AAs are for children of recent immigrants for the most part.

Where is your evidence of this?

So naive. Most (black) AA beneficiaries are African and Caribbean immigrants. I am sure schools don't want to publicize this fact. Do some research on line and you will get the information in 5 minutes.

Translation: I have no facts or data and I hope you will not point that out.

It’s no use talking to someone with an IQ of 75. If you know how to google, you’d find the info. Do you really think Harvard is dumb enough to support 15% of their URMs on full FA? Think again.

Fail, fail and fail again.

Your first point: "African and Caribbean immigrants"

Your second point: "URMs on full FA"

Apples and oranges, non-sequitur, nonsense. If you had facts or data, you'd post it.

I repeat: Translation: I have no facts or data and I hope you will not point that out.

Not sure what your interest in this topic in this thread. Your progeny obviously has no H chance given that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
