| OP here. Welcome Rosie! Raven, glad you had a good day. I was home most of the day and unsurprisngly I was hungry. Tomorrow I'm hoping to be out more, so hopefully it will be easier! |
| Geeza here. I was hoping just to eat dinner, but once I started cooking at 5:00 PM, I had to start snacking. So I ate from about 5 to 7:30, and probably ate more than I should have. Hopefully tomorrow I will have more willpower. |
That's great, though! Its impossible not to eat while cooking. |
|
Good job Rosie here.
Gotta eat dinner quick to meet my window, but an okay day. Good luck not snacking during prep! |
| OP here. We are now officially 1/10th complete! |
I’m the person who posted this and I’ll respond to you. I’m a small female, over 50yo and weighed over 200 lbs. I couldn’t lose the weight until I did this. It’s not as drastic as it seems: - one day I would basically just have veggie soup - the next day, I would eat a full meal: salad/ meat/ veggies That may not sound like much food, but it still took me a full year to lose 50 pounds. Note that I was still overweight even after six months. And yes, I exercised. Again, I’m female, older and small. This may not be enough food for someone else but it was for me. |

Im in, but joining late!
Call me Ishmael. |
Raven here. Not much movement since yesterday and nervous about going into the weekend which is when I fall off the wagon quite spectacularly. Any tips to get through the weekend? |
| I have done OMAD for 5 years. I gain weight when I don't count calories and avoid gluten and sugar. |
|
Rosie here. Well day one not what I’d hoped:
Ate dinner an hour “window.” Drank two glasses of wine when I planned just one. Raven, no great weekend advice except maybe have some options for yourself as you’ll likely have temptations. Good luck. |
| I’ll be Serendipity. I started a few days back. Today, I’m hungry. Moving up my windows to 2p with a big salad. |
|
Raven, would it help to get out of the house and go to the park or something? At least you would be far from the refrigerator.
I’m Serendipity and I’m working from home and it’s hard not to overeat when I’m working out of my kitchen all day. I just keep hitting up the water, coffee and flavored teas. |

OP here. Glad to see the momentum is building! I've been sticking to my window of 4-7 everyday. I have a substantial snack at 4, then a reasonable dinner around 6:15. I definitely feel hungry during the day, but I don't notice it when I keep busy. The idea of doing this for another 25 days is daunting, but if we can do Covid for six plus months, I can do this for 30 days.
For the poster who has done omad forever and gains weight if they don't calorie count-- are you at a low weight? I'm at a high weight, so skrinking my wiindow seems to be restrictive enough to enable weight loss for me, for now. Welcome Ishmael! Weekend advice is get out of the house and stay busy. Make a list of errands to run, including little things you've been putting off, and stick to it! |
| I will join in. Call me Farmgirl. I will start tomorrow and do Keto OMAD. I am planning on eating between 5-8pm. I get home from work at 5. I prefer OMAD because I don’t want to plan and figure out multiple meals a day. One meal makes planning a lot easier. |
| Hi Farmgirl, welcome! OP here and I completely agree that meal planning is such an obstacle! It's definitely one of the reasons that IF is so appealing- it's much easier to just not eat. I'm home with kids and figuring out calories or carbs throughout the day while preparing food and snacks is impossible for me to sustain. That said, I'm not sure OMAD is sustainable for me, either, but I think I've come to accept that my weightloss/ maintenance methods will forever be changing, and that change is the only sustainable thing! |
