On paper, Bullis is better than Landon. They lost 3 UA AAs, their entire defense, their goalie, their stud FOGO, etc.

I think you are vastly over estimating how much Landon loss to graduation last year.

Buller at attack and Shockey at FOGO are big losses for the BEARS. They lost one starting defenseman and their goalie and their LSM. Many would say the returning LSM this Spring, who is also a D1 football player, is much better than Fowler. The kid is a freak athlete. Landon returns two out three starting attackers, one being Epstein. They also return two starting defenders and two monster middies who started all last Spring.

Landon's senior class is very talented where as Bullis senior class is rather weak. Bullis will have to rely upon their junior class to step up and lead the way.

Being a highly touted club player, a top 50 Ty Xander prize recruit, doesn't always equate to success in high school lacrosse. . Club lacrosse is more or less a glorified pick up game. There is NO SCOUTING and hardly any special situations as the games are running clocks.

I see Landon, Prep or Saint Stephens making it to the finals as all 3 teams have much deeper senior classes.

2019 will be Bullis' year though.

The On Paper Argument.

Go to Laxpower and search recruits for each school for the classes of 2018 and 2019. Recruiting Rundown has the “in before the rule” 2020s.

#1 team on paper is Georgetown Prep (only slightly because of the Fogo transfer)
#2 is Landon
#3 is SSSA
#4 is Bullis
#5 is Episcopal

So, I’ll try once again to stop it. The on-paper argument that a certain Bullis dad likes to use because his son is ranked, don’t mean squat as a team. Seniors=Trophy.

Who’s steps up? I say Landon brings it home.

who is the fogo transfer at Prep?

You dads are idiots.

I think, but am not sure, he transferred from EHS.

In just watching a recent box lacrosse game (to which our neighbor invited us), I was pretty put off. The boys were all getting injured and upset.

Forgive my ignorance, but what are the pros and cons of lacrosse? (I admit that I need to get more acquainted with the game, but am kind of surprised that the sport is so popular when it seems like you can get hurt pretty easily, compared to say soccer or swimming, where you're not waving a stick around within inches of other kids' faces.)

If you or your son are afraid of physical contact, then lacrosse is not the sport for him. While it is not quite as violent as football, there is still a great amount of contact but that is part of the appeal. As someone else posted, some club owners push box lacrosse in the off-season. Full-field lacrosse is a bit more wide open and less chippy.

FYI - I broke a kid's leg once playing soccer.

For the girls, other than BI and SSSAS, are there any non-Baltimore teams in the area that are supposed to be in the upper echelons this year?

No. Visi always has a chance but it is doubtful after their season last year.

Good analysis. While I agree with you Bullis brought in several key transfers, I don't see any senior leader on their roster who can carry this team.

I also question how good of a coaching staff they have if they have compelled to recruit star players from other programs.

I have no qualms with th debate over who finishes at the top-Bullis or Landon. Perhaps even Prep. But what is with the SSSA predictions of greatness? Sheez, they lost to Albans once last season, and almost twice. Albans FOGO owned the x. And with ehs reportedly bringing in canucks, there is a real possibility sssa finishes st the bottom of the IAC come 2018, eh?

A hold-back who is very small and very overrated. Got worked by Landon FOGO, lost to Bullis FOGO and got pulled against STA FOGO. Robinson FOGO is best around. Just won a national championship.

Public school lax is terrible.

+100. It seems delusional.

Bullis may have the best coaches in the league. Coaches that have coached and played at every level. Also they are what you may call coaches that understand kids. The staff has high school teachers and club coaches, an interesting mix. Also they have alumni coaches. Bullis will make a run in 2018 may even win it all. I agree many 2019 players are important in the Bullis line up but don't underestimate the smaller but very capable senior class. But only time will tell.

Club Coaches for the most part are in it for themselves and for the MONEY.

I admire the alums who coach and give back to their HS teams but save the BS around club coaches.
