BEEBE, Ark. - A local child who had been hospitalized since a Feb. 27 shooting at her home has died. This after her mother died just months ago from a blood disorder. The young girl's father is asking for prayers and a miracle. He says he was at home in Beebe with his daughter Monday evening. They were playing games and getting ready to do homework. His last memory before she was shot was only happy. "I just remember her smiling. She was so beautiful," said Matthew. He says a friend, Jeremiah Owens, came to his house to check on him and Karma. Owens was looking a gun that Matthew says he'd recently purchased. Moments later, it went off, and Karma had been shot. |
| Thank you, again, OP for bringing this tragic situation to our attention. |
|
I appreciate their sacrifices, as I purchase firearms as often as is convenient, and will continue to do so.
At least I have something to show for it. What have the rest of you done except blame inanimate objects for the actions of bad people? |
You are f-ing sick in the head. |
|
No, trying to control others and denying them a means to protect themselves and their families is sick.
Sick, disgusting and shameful. |
Thank god all the children in this thread were protected by those guns. |
I blame the negilence of gun owners and lax gun ownership laws. You know that most people are allowed to kerp their guns even after a terrible sccident? |
| Totally agree OP. Gun safety is every gun owner's responsibility. Hope you are posting these heart-tending stories over on Chicago Urban Mom forum also. So sad. |

CANA, Va. (WDBJ7) A 9-year-old girl is in a North Carolina hospital recovering after the Carroll County Sheriff's Office says she was accidentally shot. Two people who live in neighboring homes say they aren't surprised it happened. They've witnessed kids from the same home playing with guns outside for years. "They don't need guns. I'm just going to put it plain. They don't need guns," Barr said. "I don't even feel safe to go out in the summertime to work back in my backyard because bullets has no eyes," Barr said. Neighbors say they've called the sheriff's office many times before this accident. "I probably couldn't count. Seven to 10, easy. The system failed. The system that everybody goes through failed the child," Haynes said.
We've asked to talk to the sheriff's department further about the case but no one was available Thursday. It's unclear at this point if there will be any charges. ummmm |
Yes, fucked up. If the gun lovers would just allow some moderate restrictions to prevent shitbird dumbasses like this from getting guns, then we'd all have fewer senseless deaths and less hatred of guns. The problem is that the NRA and all the politicians they've bought will resist any and all reasonable regulation on a theory of slippery slope. If they won't allow reasonable steps to lessen senseless gun deaths, then the rest of us need to come together to solve the problem with more strict regulation. They won't act like responsible adults, so maybe they're not allowed to sell their dangerous products anymore. |
