Kids used to learn to shoot at school. They were taught proper safety, cleaning, and marksmanship.

Bring back after school gun clubs and gun ranges.

Now only kids with parents who take the time to teach these things and have the land got a backyard range or the time/money to go to a range have access.

It's better if you mandate that anyone who buys a gun has to take lessons and pass a test to own one.

No! Just no! What the hell?

You want people buying guns to be MORE proficient with them?!?! What the hell? So they can murder more people more accurately than untrained shooters?

On what planet does that make sense?

The one in which you can load and unload and clean your gun without shooting your child or someone in the next apartment.

This is the stuff which you can expect to see more of if idiots like the poster a few lines up has her way - outraged at the notion of "training" requirements for guns - because she thinks that means teaching people how to shoot accurately, rather than safe storage and handling training - which might've prevented this baby's death.
