I guess “be kind to others” is political now.

Freaking Republicans ruining everything for the rest of us.

Er, who weaponized "be kind"? It wasn't Republicans...

It was exactly the Republicans. They can’t just let people live their lives in peace. They have to control everyone else.

On the contrary leave the children and parents alone teach stem and stfu

Hard to teach STEM if kids are milking themselves because they have a-hole controlling parents.

Still waiting to hear what the republicans have to say about SATs and overcrowding. I'm guessing it will be awhile

I think the Republicans are talking about academics over social issues. Reminder: it is the SB who has focused on the social issues and made dramatic changes in the way schools work.

For example: biological boys will now be in FLE with girls. How does this make sense? Maybe, just have the trans kids skip this part.

If you read the new policy--teachers are no longer supposed to have boys and girls line up separately. Sure, you can say "everyone in red" get here and "blue" there. But, it is a ridiculous requirement and really unnecessary.

It seems that, in FCPS, the whole structure is being transformed to bow to the Trans community.

But, nothing holds a candle to keeping information from parents.

Source? Do you have any link to their plans?

Read the regulation. It was linked on the first page of this thread.

I see nothing about academics over social issues there, maybe you can link to the section that illustrates "the Republicans are talking about academics over social issues."

The Republican candidate for the newly redistricted Springfield District, Debra Tisler, has a strong education excellence focused platform. She stresses literacy, improved accurate grading standards, parent and community involvement, FAPE compliance, school safety, teacher support, and parent advocy, to summarize.

She is a parent advocate with a background in special ed. She is a former elementary school teacher with a masters in special ed. She is a FCPS parent. She is an excellent choice for school board.

She seems like a great and well-qualified candidate. She has my vote this Fall.

The current Board is a total disaster.

I doubt stem kids are milking themselves at school. That sounds like teenage moms.

Look, you all don't have to like it, approve, or understand these kids.

Just don't be a dick. Be understanding. And maybe realize that these kids are already struggling and facing an uphill battle for acceptance. Don't make it worse.

Are you making it worse? That's all you need to consider with this issue. End of story.

Republicans are running an election on making these kids other. Look at PP and you can see that it's at least popular with their base

He’s not moderate.

He mentions nothing about supporting and retaining employees.
I'm running to represent the original interest groups when it comes to schools – students, parents, and taxpayers!

…focus on solving the overcrowding problems in schools without placing burdens on students and families; the two groups who suffer consequences from overcrowding (Apparently he thinks teachers benefit somehow from having crowded classes.)

The Board's ideologically driven agenda has resulted in…a disturbing effort to introduce age-inappropriate sexual concepts and ideas to our youngest students. (I’d like to hear examples of these concepts and ideas. It’s been asked numerous times on this board and nobody has responded with examples from the current curriculum.)
