This news story has really struck a nerve with me! I donated to his family just to show support, but i just can’t stop thinking about that poor man and this last awful moments of his life. It’s the dragging part that really gets me. They could have stopped the car!! They didn’t.

I don't have an iota of sympathy for the 13 and 15 year olds. At that age, you know better. They had infinitely more opportunities than many people - nobody can put you on the track to a better life but yourself, and making your own choices. They were massively privileged just to be born in America.

You don't go from being a decent kid to this overnight - there were a series of senseless decisions that they chose to make, even that afternoon, that led to them taking the life of a decent man and choosing to wreck their own lives. I can't muster any empathy for them. Whatever grownup was legally responsible for them should also be charged.

Lord help us if the 13/15 year olds here have kids. If they don't, it's not at all misguided to suggest they be put away for a very long time - and if there's any crime worthy of "over incarcerating" for, it should be murder and a case like this.

And sorry, but many people grow up in single parent households, with the one parent having mental illness, and their biggest crimes might be jaywalking. Everyone makes their choices - including these girls. This is not some happenstance mistake.

Karl Racine and Charles Allen should maybe at some point be asked the tough questions about the rampant juvenile crime in the District.

I agree. I mentioned earlier in the thread that the car flipped and that’s what killed him. After seeing this - I believe those girls deserve the death penalty. Sheer cruelty.

Police believe Anwar had partially left the car and was wedged between the door and the driver’s seat as the teenagers allegedly put the vehicle in gear. It lurched forward with Anwar still hanging from it, officials said.

fyi there are photos on the Daily Mail. His body is blurred, but he was obviously thrown from the vehicle and hit the concrete about 10 feet away. National guard can be seen pulling the girls from the flipped vehicle (before detaining them).

They are trash. They are directly responsible for the death of a human being.
