It depends. George Floyd’s - around $27M. Mohammed Anwar’s - around $1M. (I’m assuming that there will be no civil case and that the accused will not be saddled with an incredible fine.) |
| But actually Floyd’s life may be worth $1-2 billion? https://www.channel4.com/news/factcheck/factcheck-black-americans-commit-crime |
| But maybe subtract $50K a year from Floyd because Chauvin might get that in pension (which is disgusting). |
And I’m pretty sure it’ll be free! Possible loophole for your teens to get in for free? https://psychinstitute.com/treatment-services/services-faqs/ |
This is so disgusting. One is a violent criminal (armed robbery and home invasion!) and the other is an innocent man earning a living for his family. We need to remove qualified immunity for politicians! Victims need to start suing politicians for creating policies that allow criminals to stay in the community to reoffend. Politicians should need to put their money where their mouth is - if they decide that these girls "deserve" to still be in their communities, then they should pay for the crimes they commit. |
Rich people in DC can move if they don't like the situation there. As for the poor people in DC, it seems like they get a lot more than the poor people in other parts of the country. "As such, while state and local governments spent $2,070 per capita nationally on public welfare in 2017, per capita spending ranged from $1,068 in Connecticut to $3,624 in New York. The District of Columbia’s per capita spending was $5,649. Other states with high per capita public welfare spending in 2017 included Alaska ($3,483), Massachusetts ($3,242), and Vermont ($2,955). After Connecticut, the lowest per capita spending was in Georgia ($1,164), Utah ($1,262), North Carolina ($1,303), and South Dakota ($1,338). ... If, instead of spending per capita, we consider spending as a share of the low-income population, Massachusetts spent the most of any state ($14,346), followed by Alaska ($14,181), New York ($11,716) and Minnesota ($11,255). The District of Columbia is again an outlier at $20,167. Per low-income resident, spending is lowest in Georgia ($3,310), North Carolina ($3,748), Florida ($3,904), Texas ($3,953), and Nevada ($4,166)." https://www.urban.org/policy-centers/cross-center-initiatives/state-and-local-finance-initiative/state-and-local-backgrounders/public-welfare-expenditures |

Why was DC conceived as a District and not a state in the first place?
Was it to oppress all the white male residents, who were the only ones who could vote at the time? |
Astonishing. |
Wait, are they living there? Or just getting treatment there? it's hardly a secure facility |
The girls lived in an environment where they did whatever they wanted to do, without consequences. My heart breaks for the immigrant man who was murdered. |
By this logic, it would be fine to disenfranchise all states with Republican senators, because hey, they can move... right? |
Because the founding fathers, in their brilliance, created the capital area as a place for co-equal states to come together to conduct business. It was to be separate and apart from all states, to avoid having undue influence. |
And those guys got everything right! |
Good question. |
| But, hey, soon DC will have no more Police Department. |
