Private School Lacrosse Thread

The latest transfer from last week really makes you question the integrity of the school.

Good to know if you get asked to leave one school, Bullis will always take you.

As will Landon, Prep, SSSAS, Gonzaga, STJ, PVI and many, many others.

No. Nobody cares

NP. Some of us are curious. My DD is a middle schooler who plays for a top club and has a lot of lax friends who play at various Nova clubs and no one she knows tried out.

Which private schools not in the WCAC or IAC have strong lacrosse programs?

RIP DC Express 2021. Man, that team broke up quickly.

?

Players leaving for other clubs? Don't see them on Madlax or VLC or Crabs rosters.

Where did the top kids end up going?

I believe there were several Landon and Bullis kids on the DC Express 2021 team.

Several top kids bolted. That's why some many of the DC Express 2021 B kids were moved up and how some kids from other clubs made the B team.

Bolt to where? I thought the parents agreed to stick together?

LOL. You must be new to club lacrosse (or any club sport). In the end, many parents are jerks and are only looking out for #1 (and this particular team has a lot of loudmouth dads). They were part of a rec team with several really good players. Once they hit HS, they were pulled by the allegiances some HS have towards certain clubs as well as kids who want to be part of a bigger club platform to showcase their talents.

This happens all the time.

DC Express has very little college connections.

Its essentially Performance Lacrosse with a face-lift.

Its virtually the same coaches.

Instead, he played a lot of basketball, football, and soccer. In the end, he earned a spot on a team for his defensive and transition skills, most of which he developed playing other sports, not hitting a bounce back in the backyard.

First, congrats to your son.

Second, nobody said developing your lax skills was mutually exclusive from playing other sports.

Third, if you're trying to convince anyone who's played or coached at the D1 level that your son isn't putting in extra work, then your son is sitting on the sideline cheering his team mates on. There is a huge chasm between making a D1 team and playing. If your son is on a quality team, he understand this already.

And, it is a revenue generator for the Megills.

Excluding the Baltimore teams, is the state of play basically that anyone who wants to play in college more or less needs to eventually migrate to BW, Madlax, or VLC?
