Bullis HOS “exit was messier than it appeared” according to the Post

I don’t get this either.

The board didn’t protect the school or students but protected Boarman and his mistress rewarding them financially for being terrible human beings and leaving a big mess to clean up.

I don't know how the chairman or treasury of the board remain in seat, this is complete financial negligence on their part.

With that being said he did increase Bullis enrollment by 20% during his tenure and raised funds for a stunning STEM building.

Can you cite verification on collected donations for that STEM building? If he really collected $27M in donations, why did the school seek a $38M bond from Montgomery County? And one of the top comments on Wapo says the school shows $30M in debt on its Form 990?

It sounds like a rich boyfriend who "buys" you a new Porsche ... then a few months later he dumps you and you realize he put the Porsche in your name and you'll be on the hook for its payments for the next X years.

And the way the board of trustees explained the smaller than expected enrollment was that "families moved out of the area." Sure, a few, but my guess is most of those kids just "moved" to another local school.

It's so frustrating that the families can't trust the HOS, can't trust the Board. Obviously could not trust the "general counsel." The only thing the school has going for it are its teachers. (A beautiful campus is not a reason to pick a school.) More teachers have left in the last couple of years than usually leave, and if many that stayed are not happy, are they still going to be good enough that families can overlook the shadiness of the administration and board?

Every family makes its own choice. Ours was no.

Are people Bullis obsessed? Always seems that way on here. Probably good for the school, people can't keep the name out of their mouth.

And it turned out it was a ford pinto for the price of a Porsche.

It does seem that Bullis gets way more than its share of shade on this site!

To generate such strong feelings, I'm thinking it can't be just community criticism -- more like unhappy Bullis families (past or present), which makes sense if even half of the stuff posted about Bullis here is true.

Well, did you read the Washington Post expose?? There's quite a bit uncovered in there that is quite shocking and worth discussing. And if you don't think so then I don't know what to tell you.

Consider the schools attrition rate with current families and faculty / staff, it is alarming for any prospective family.

It is stunning. Don't people have better things to do? Everyone are free to pick their own school for their kids.
