Bullis HOS “exit was messier than it appeared” according to the Post

What was his real reputation at ERHS?

School handled it as best the could. 1 person does not define an orginazation. Next.

Please let's separate the HOS, his slimy-ness, and the few that enabled it from the many great kids, families, teachers and administrators that are relieved to start fresh. I know this board loves to trash talk, but it's so hurtful to characterize the entire student and parent body and all of the teachers as "rot." There is a lot of great stuff happening at Bullis and if you want to trash talk, please don't paint 800+ kids and their families and teachers with one brush. It's hurtful and mean.

We’re not trash talking kids—unless we’re talking about bullis grad Ogulcan Atakoglu who murdered a family and left a girl orphaned and disabled with his sports car.

Whoa. I can't imagine how dispirited the teachers are within that larger school culture, no matter how good the students are. You can do a lot in your individual classroom and department to alleviate rottenness from above, but this situation has to have affected teachers' ability to believe in their work.

Has there been a new head named?

Really? That poor girl is disabled now? I hope she is doing as well as she can possibly be doing.

Why do you assume kids at bullis are good students?

Plus many teachers reflect the same arrogance and pettiness the hos did.

He didn’t act alone. Board approved all of it and many are still there. So it seems that the crookedness will continue. Heard the new HOS made renovations on an already renovated house and is driving that same Mercedes. And the board hired the new HOS.....

How about the leadership that knew all about this and allowed (even gave stamp of approval) for it to happen? No, this isn't about the students. But it is certainly a reflection of the school administration, trustees, and every parent who sits on the Board.

He didn't do it on school property or while he was at the school. Lets talk about all the other bad things that have happened at private and public schools if you are going there.

Other posters have mentioned corruption are other schools. This could happen at any school. Private schools hide many secrets using be excuse of “confidentiality”.

Bullis is in a league of its own with this story. Please.

Exactly. If I were a parent at that school I would demand that every board member that allowed this resign. Where were the financial controls? They need to have an independent audit to determine what is going on and put financial controls in place otherwise no parents should make any donations to this financial cesspool.

Talk about incompetence.

That sounds like a logical approach, but I imagine that many parents will want to bury their heads in the sand and act as if it’s not a problem, at least not anymore. They have a lot at stake with the school’s reputation, especially parents of juniors and seniors who will not be switching to other schools at this point.

Then there’s the parent that was proudly wearing her Bullis sweatshirt at the demonstration to force Hogan to let private schools open. It gave me the impression of a parent putting their own interests above the interests of the community, and wearing the school shirt She seemed like she was rah-rah Bullis.
