Consider the schools attrition rate with current families and faculty / staff, it is alarming for any prospective family.

What is the attrition rate? Where do you find this info?

School attrition rates usually aren't public info.

So the PP is full of crap, I guess.

You can ask the admissions office about attrition. If it is low, they will probably have some numbers to give you. If they don't know, it probably isn't good and you can ask a more specific question: When the class of ____ started in 9th grade, how many of those kids were still at Bullis at graduation? If they still don't know, you can tell them it is an important factor to you and ask them to find out and get back to you.

With that being said he did increase Bullis enrollment by 20% during his tenure and raised funds for a stunning STEM building.

But how did he increase enrollment? By lowering standards of admission. Existing families noticed and started to leave. To fix the deficit, he proposed cutting teachers' pay. Even more families left after the 2018-2019 school year, the year all of this became common knowledge in the community. Bullis was begging for applicants right up until Fall 2019... soliciting from summer camp lists, recruiting athletes, and adding Chinese boarding students. They even accepted juniors and seniors after the school year started. This was just to boost enrollment numbers and keep up appearances. I suspect there were great allowances given for financial aid just to fill seats.

The STEM building is really just an empty shell with no STEM program inside. At the opening ceremony, Boarman gaffed when he said the "E" stands for entrepreneurship. He never intended to boost academics -- the building is smoke and mirrors. There was very high turn-over of teachers in the science and math departments. Upon closer look, the labs are nothing better than a 1960s college science lab. Boarman loved to brag about spending over a million dollars on furniture alone for that building. It looked like a furniture showroom threw up all over it. He put the GC in charge of furniture selection, and they took trips on the private jet to the showroom in Michigan. Students used those cozy study nooks on the 2nd floor for watching Netflix. It's a shame they mixed Kindergartners in the same building with 12th graders. More than a few lower schoolers had quite a fright using the restroom where the upper schoolers were vaping. The new "1930 Grill" further divided a student body already struggling with diversity based on SES. Those with means paid to eat in the new building, while everyone else dined for free in the cafeteria. Consequences of some very poor planning.

The high school classes are full now so they seem to be doing ok. Please stop with all the hate.

Except, NOT FREE. Upper school kids pay the most, around $48K-ish, and that number includes lunch ALL the kids pay for cafeteria food, whether they eat it or not. Which is yet another annoying thing about the STEM center: "Oh, and if you don't like the cafeteria lunch that you already paid for, just head on over to BOARMAN DISCOVERY CENTER and you can spend MORE MONEY at the cafe!"

Having face-to-face classes in the middle of a pandemic is a great way to boost enrollment when the public schools are virtual. This year is money-grab for all of the private schools.

I’m not sure how much of a money grab it is. It must cost a ton of money to prepare campuses for in person school. Sounds to me like remote learning is much cheaper.

Boarman, Caulfield, and his Bullis Board have misled and STOLE from Bullis parents, teachers, and staff for years, and have cheated Bullis students out of the quality of education that they paid for. It is STUNNINGLY heartbreaking for the people actually affected (my family included). To receive criticism on this site should truly be the least of Bullis Board's worries.

If the Bullis Board had spent half as much time policing Boarman as they do policing free speech on this website - perhaps the Board and Boarman wouldn't be charged with fraud by Marlin Business Bank! Case#474909V YES I LOOKED IT UP - THIS IS INSANE!!!!!!
ARE THERE ANY MORE ROCKS THERE

so the defendant is Bullis and an LLC named : CAPX SOLUTIONS LLC

Well, Law firm Bonuses were cut last April and Law Partners do have an opportunity to apply themselves here....

so maybe all the DC Parents paying $$$ for Private School should be demanding outside Audits of each and EVERY DC Private - right now

Because these tactics applied to extract $$$$ at Bullis don't seem particularly original- actually they seem rather brazen, which tells me that they GO ON ALL THE TIME

Private School Bubble has Popped... wake UP and Smell the Outside Audit

That is sickening... but I think the remedy here is not to assume that this is unique to Bullis

This kind of theft and betrayal of educational mission could happen at any school that fails to regularly outside audit
