Bullis HOS “exit was messier than it appeared” according to the Post

Anonymous
I was working at a nearby school during this time and am pretty surprised all this was happening. Here’s a summary: https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/the-head-of-an-elite-private-school-was-celebrated-as-he-left-but-his-exit-was-messier-than-it-appeared/2020/08/13/13d1c9b4-ba05-11ea-8cf5-9c1b8d7f84c6_story.html?hpid=hp_local1-8-12_bullis-950am%3Ahomepage%2Fstory-ans

For some reason, earlier threads on this were taken down right away. This is news from the Washington Post, not rumor and slander, so I hope this stays up.

I wasn’t the original poster, and I don’t remember if the original post had more than the link or not. In any case, this one should stick.

Gross. Feel bad for the teachers and employees. What does an average teacher make there?

Starting with no experience is $48K
After 55 years of service (you read that right) and at the highest teaching level it is $109K

15 years of service ranges between $71-81K depending on teaching level.

The Bullis fanatics have been fooled.

Boarman has done a tone more harm than good.

An in-house GC seems unnecessary to begin with.

Any school that is charging 50K, ramping up capital expenditures, and increasing tuition by 6-10% is likely invoked in some degree of financial malfeasance.

Look carefully if they are issuing bonds to board members as well.

Corruption all the way up to the top. Get his name off the building, for goodness sake.

None of this is "news" to those in the community. Everyone, including the students were aware of the affair. That is not the kind of education I was paying for so we're out.

Karma. All I will say.

Good for you. It will take a long time to undo the damage done. The sports program is also riddled with corruption. Football and track coaches need to go. They do not do the school any favors.

We pulled out over a year ago, none of this was news to the Bullis community except for the boosters who to this day continue to rave about Boardman legacy
